Nope. I have no fear of flying and neither does my 6 year old DD. If you hear a little voice yelling "Go! Go! Go! Go up in the air!" at take-offs or "Hit the brakes!" at landings, that would be us.
For my very first flight I did, but it didn't do a thing for me. I just try to relax myself. Since all but one of my trips were for work I couldn't drink even though I wanted to. But it probably would have taken a few too many drinks and a whole lot of money getting those drinks in order for them to do me any good.
I am a very nervous flyer but I am getting better.....I have on occasion popped a xanax to calm my nerves before getting on a flight. I feel so out of control of my environment on an airplane.
I LOVE to fly, so no, I don't need anything to calm my nerves while in the air. I have thought about taking a sleeping pill when I fly to Denmark next year, though. I would much rather sleep though that long flight if I can!
hi all,
i was never scared to fly.but after sept 11,i was terrified to get on a plane.we went to vagas in june 2002.my doc gave me valium 10 mg 2 pills.one 10 mg there and one home.well i took one 10 mg on the way to the airport, forgot i took it and in the airport and about 25 mins before boarding,i got a really bad migraine headache so i took 2 furocit pills.which are a pain killer with barbituate's.then on the plane the friends flying with us decieded to have red wine to celebrate this trip.so i had 2 glasses still forgetting all the pills in my system.end result I loved flying that day and i loved everything else too.the world was great!! . i was for lack of a better word stoned and very.this was the last time i took anything.it really does'nt bother me anymore it was just that first time after those events i had a problem with.have a great day all.
No drugs, but on this last flight, I had a drink and it helped. I've never been a nervous flyer until I started flying w/ my kids, and that, for soem reason, makes me very nervous.
Please don't mix any of these medications with any amount of alcohol - this is extremely dangerous!!
