Do you take drugs?.......

Is this a drinking thread?? :earboy2:

NO!! It is a drugging thread. :teeth:

I actually have a question now that I am here carrying Sherry back to the lounge.

How do you deal with your kids on an airplane if you take a Xanex. :confused3 I would think it would be hard. I am not judging, just wondering. So, no, I've never taken a pill before flying (on a plane). :teeth: I'm willing to try, though!

Do they make you sleepy? I have never taken a pill to calm me down, but I would be afraid to mix them with alcohol. Maybe they give their kids pills too. You are a pill. :teeth:

I sit on the aisle, DH sits next to me and DD sits in the window seat. She watches her DVD player and DH tends to any of ther other needs. Snacks, etc.... then she usually naps for at least an hour and then we are at our destination. The pill just calms my nerves. I can still take care of my DD.

No, none of us need them. However, I try to always fly with Listerine pockets. We put them as far back in our mouths as possible to clear our noses, so we don't get clogged/noses and ears.

On SWA the attendant came over to us and said "Have you being doing Listerine shots?" He said they could smell it all over the plane. He was very nice.

No, but I could sure use something.
I don't take anything when I have my kids with me, because I'm loopy and I feel like I can't pay attention to them like I should. The one and only time I flew alone with my husband since our honeymoon was last August and we had 2 Sam Adams in the airport while waiting for our flight, and I felt FINE! The only problem is that I had to pee and I refuse to get up and go to the bathroom on plane. Once I fasten my seatbelt I do not move under any cirucumstances. You can imagine my "delight" when I flew alone with my 3 kids and my then 4 year old had to use the airplane bathroom and I had to go in there with him. :scared1:

Well we will be flying for the first time October 21st.I am terrified.I went to the DR and he gave me Ativan to help calm me down.

So if you here of Delta having to make an Emergency stop because someone is freaking out it will be Me.
I am sure I will be fine but this is all I think about, and I still have 5 weeks to go.I will be crazy by then.So any advice will be Greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Misty

Chalk me up as another Xanax-taker!

Works wonders. Love the stuff.

In fact, I plan on popping a few tomorrow for a medical procedure.

:worship: to the Xanax inventors!!

BTW, I've mixed Xanax and alcohol. It's not too bad. I've only taken 1 Xanax with alcohol, so I don't know what would happen if you took more. I've also done Xanax with a Benadryl chaser. Knocked me out pretty good. That was after my Nana died and I discovered it was the nursing home's fault. It was that, or go to the Home and start smacking people. :guilty:

I'll have my first flight in five years coming up in October when we go to Disney. I thought I would be OK with it b/c it's Disney, but the closer we get the more I don't know if I can handle it. I know that I'm going to do it. I know that I WILL NOT take any drugs to "help me". I know that I'll have a happy face on for my girls, but I'm pretty sure I'll be dying inside. Aside from the takeoff and landing there's nothing about flying I ever enjoyed. Being in a relatively small space with a bunch of people(some of them gross) coughing, and spreading their germs all over the place. Basically putting my life and the lives of my children in the hands of someone I've never even met before(my kids don't even drive in the car with anyone but DH, my mother and I ). At no other time in my life would I even consider that. I've had some good flights(the best was te flight to Jamaica when DH and I got married), but those bad things stick out in my head. I once flew to San Francisco, alone, and sat in a row with a guy who I was convinced must have just been released from prison by the way he ate his eggs. Our last flight to Disney was about 7 yrs ago and we were delayed 12 hrs and arrived in Orlando with NO LUGGAGE!!! Hopefully, all will go well to and from MCO, but I don't know if I'll fly again after this. Pray for me

I just take dramamine. Partly for the flight and partly for the car ride up to the airport. :crazy2:

I don't take anything to fly. I'd be more worried that the Xanax would make me groggy and if something happened, I wouldn't be able to function as well.

I get a little nervous, but I don't need anything to calm me down. I find I am more calm when I am with the kids because I have to be. We all chew gum to keep our ears clear.

I am flying by myself to France next month, and what I am really nervous about is what I am going to do with myself for all that time. I hate being alone. Any good book recommendations? I also have a tough time sleeping on planes.

I was snookered on one of my favorite plane rides. Had a couple of margaritas in a restaurant before we left, and I was good to go.

I like a little something to take the edge off :) I don't have fear of flying, but the whole experience is just a pain in the neck and I get tense.
