Yes, but it really depends on the word. The words I say fairly often are not vulgar. Only when I'm very angry, do I use the "bad" words.

I don't curse in front of relatives, though. Around my parents, I'll say words that aren't vulgar.

I don't have children yet; no examples to set.

VERY rarely. The last time, we had just moved to an apartment and I leaned down in the bathroom to pick up a wet towel, came up too quickly, and smacked my head so hard on the towel rack that I saw stars & fell to my knees. DD was about 8 and came running in to see if I was ok. When I recovered a bit, she told me, "You scared me, Mommy. You said a word I've never heard before!" I still don't know what it was but I think I went from her usually hearing me say, "Jeepers" and "Darn it" to something a longshoreman might say. I think it probably involved the word mother.

I try to be a good example for my kids so I don't swear a lot and very rarely in front of them. Even though a nasty streak can be effective under the right circumstances, swearing and using vulgar language all the time just seems lazy. It also has the potential to make people seem uneducated or uncultured, even if they aren't.

Me too! I do watch it around my son (which he probably hears worse at school) and I watch it around my mom. She still threatens with the whole soap thing.

Seriously, I do not feel that swearing is good at all in most situations.
But, yes, there are times where nothing but a *&%@# or two will do.

When I was in the Navy back in the 60s it was commonplace, but I've cleaned it up a lot over the decades. Sometimes the moment will trigger an outburst, but for the most part I keep it clean. I'm actually embarrassed at how freely some of the younger generations swear in mixed company. For that matter, the girls can be just as bad or worse. I guess it's one of the ways they pretend to be a grown-up...

I have gotten a lot better but it still slips back sometimes. I worked for a hockey team you werent accepted unless you could use a certain word 5 times in a sentence and have it make sense.

Mostly only when driving and if my team is losing. Obviously if I stub my toe or break a nail. Also when talking on the phone with certain people. Oh, and when the cat starts puking. If I'm around my husband's buddies because they are a bad influence on me. Other than that, I try to keep it clean.
