Do You Still Ride All The Rides

At 75 riding the rides is no longer a priority for us. We spend a lot of time in Epcot and Animal Kingdom. (Did the Hippo experience last week in Animal Kingdom and petted a hippo.) Our strategy for the parks has evolved from when our daughters were little and riding all the rides was a priority. When we go with our grandsons, they kids go and do all the rides still. Getting out of some of the rides is difficult now and motion sickness has also become an issue. Still ride ROTR at studios but we just enjoy the theming and experience in the parks now.

I solved the motion sickness by eating ginger candy. Ginger Ale also works post ride but it's only available in Epcot. I had no problems with motion sickness 2 weeks ago, had a ginger candy before and after the ride.

I am not yet a senior, but at 46 I still ride all the rides, but some definitely give me pause, or are a one & done. My back does not care for Space Mountain (though I LOVE it!), and Mission: SPACE Orange Team is a one-time-only ride. If I want to ride again, I will do Green Team, though I hate how they chagned it. I used to just do Green Team anyway, but now I slip in one go at Orange. Most other stuff at Disney is okay for me and my messed up back. Universal though....

I've used ginger candy on cruises when the ocean gets too rough for me. It really does help.

In Epcot, if you can't find the Ginger Ale (where is it?). I found that the apple soda in the QS in Mexico either Manzanita or Sidral-I forget which) is a good substitute

I ride most of the rides, except the ones where it is difficult for me to get in and out of with my bad knees. The ones that come to mind are Space Mountain and Astro Obiter. Getting in to them is OK, getting out of them is difficult. There are some rides I don't particulary like, but will do them if a group I'm with wants to do them...like Tower of Terror and Rockin' Roller Coaster. If they would redo Space Mountain, an use two across seating like at Disneyland. I could do it fine.

My Mom did most of the rides every trip, on her last trip she was 86 years old, and she passed at 87 Years old.
I haven’t ridden Space Mountain since the time it took two CMs to haul me out. It took a while and I had an audience. Never rode it again.

I can still ride everything but as I’ve gotten older I find I’m less willing to make the effort to get on heavy hitters like Tron, Tiana and Rise of the Resistance.

We still ride most rides, but as a lot of posts have stated, Motion Sickness is now a problem. Just can't do a lot of the thrill rides as before without suffering ill (pun get it?) effects. Another issue is ride smoothness. BTRR does not make me sick, it just beats me up! That surprised me as it used to be one of our favorites. Seven Dwarfs is much smoother and it has taken BTRR place in our list of must rides.

I started to deal with motion sickness in my 30s from screen based rides. I now avoid some because they just throw me around a bit much.

Due to motion sickness I avoid Flight of Passage and Star Tours.

Due to claustrophobia I avoid Mission Space but I think it would do me in on the motion sickness, as well.

To give my body a break I avoid Space Mountain, Barnstormer, and Dinosaur.
But you've tried FoP before or never even tried? I'm wondering if similar effect to Smugglers Run.

I went to DL in September and rode Matterhorn. Neither my or I thought it was jarring at all.
Not like the Hulk at IOA.
I feel that Matterhorn and Space Mtn at WDW are similar. (both jarring. lol)

What is Ginger Candy? (i'll have to google it & bring some with next time)

Hmm, I'm wondering how Orange will affect a friend who has motion sickness.

I've never ridden all the rides. Yes, my name is chicken. DH would go on more scary rides with kids/grandkids. Starting about 10 years, this and that rides got cut due to knees/body won't bend in the right way. Last few years a lot of additions to that list. Now down to about 6 rides in MK , 2 in AK, 5 in HS, 5 at Epcot.

Well, it's not just you - they are practically the same ride. They use the same ride system with somewhat different tracks. That's why the space shuttles seat three in a single row, like a bobsled!

At 75, we still go on some rides (not the spinning ones or low entry rides). But, we enjoy walking around and rethinking memories! I wish WDW would offer a senior ticket for a few hours in the evening to walk, visit gift shops and eat in the restaurants! To be able to do it at Epcot ticket price and food is well over 400.00.

Technically just became a "senior" at 55. I ride everything except the new Guardians ride which sadly gives me motion sickness. I also won't ride the teacups for the same reason. Everything else is fine, though I can't ride some things as many times as I used to.

I ride most to but the Guardians Ride I did have motion sickness . Thought I was just off that day. Was scared to go on Tron later that day but was fine.

Usually get husband to go with the kids I’m happy to sit out on some. They laugh at me because I squeal or make noises on some rides.

Never did and don't now. There are some that I have never ridden - Astro Orbitor, Magic Carpets, Barnstormer, been going since my son was just shy of 3 and have never stepped foot on those. Some trips I ride most of the rides, some trips not so many. Rides I don't ride any more but did at least once - Space Mountain (I'm too old and my back won't take it) teacups, the carousel, just rode Dumbo last year for the first time with my grand daughter, probably won't ride it again. I probably won't ride Tiana's. Didn't ride Splash Mountain all that much and it was only because I actually liked the theming when I did, I'm not a Princess and the Frog fan. At Epcot I don't ride GoTG every trip, it's o.k. but last time I rode it in Sept. my boarding group kept getting pushed back and then I was in line for a hour when it was called. Not worth it for me. Don't ride Mission Space, I think I've only ridden it once. Not a huge fan of Frozen so skip it unless it's a 15 min. wait (I'm still bitter about Maelstrom and dislike the Frozen movie). I don't ride Remy every time. It's o.k. but not worth the wait. At HS I rarely ride RNRC, that puppy throws my head around and I get off with a pounding headache. I have ridden Star Tours in the past but haven't in a number of years, makes me a little dizzy. Sometimes I don't even go into Galaxy's Edge I will ride Rise every now and again but rarely do I ride the other ride back there. I skip Runaway Rail about every other trip, still bitter about GMR and the dance scene in MMRR jerks me around too much. At AK - I skip FOP more often then not, makes me dizzy and not worth feeling bad the rest of the day. I don't think I ever rode TriCeriTop Spin . I skip EE about every other trip, the backward part gets me, if I can remember to take Bonine the entire trip I can ride it but sometimes I forget.

I can only do Smuggler's Run if I sit in the back and focus on pushing the buttons.

DH knows what I can ride and what I can't and he says Flight of Passage would not go over well for me.
