We will be staying offsite at a Hilton. 2 day park ticket. Should we get magic bands? One of our kids will for sure want his phone with him- not sure about the other.
We will order the fast lane passes. Seems like bands will be easiest with park tickets.

what do you do?

If you have old ones they will work for what you need if your tickets are attached to same MDE with MB.

If not, personal preference. Our trip two of us wore MB, one used hard ticket, the others used phones. MB folks were always faster than the others, and ticket was faster than the phone.

The phone (and watch) are horrible user experiences. I wouldn't even consider them. Band or ticket for me.

As others mentioned, if you have old bands, they will still work. Unless you want new bands.
Have read mixed experiences with the watch and phone.

We were there a couple of weeks ago. We had hard tickets but my son and I had MBs, his SO used her ticket. As long as she had her ticket out and ready when we got to the touch points she went just about as fast as we did with our bands. It was a little more of a pain for her to have to dig it out but she opted not to buy a MB. She had not been since MBs came to be so she didn't have one. We have plenty of them.

We wear magic bands. Sometimes we order new ones and sometimes we wear our old ones. I did buy the 50th anniversary band for our trip later this year.

Yay! for this post. JUST ordered ours for our early November trip and was debating what to do and it seemed like it might be easier for a family of 5 to move through the park/resort with them. We ended up ordering - glad I did. The ones we had were 6 years old and in a shadow box at the moment, so that didn't seem feasible. Wish they had a better selection, though. I was surprised they didn't have a princess theme for my little 5 year old princess.

We love our MBs , I am thinking about ordering the slap bracelet one for my DS11... his MB constantly comes off my phone goes dead fast enough with out adding to it.

We will still use bands. We just ordered the 50th Castle bands for our December trip. After our trips we create collages to display using them.

Should I purchase MagicBands for my kids? Would it streamline the entry process? They are 6 and 11, so won't be alone purchasing things. We are planning to stay at Beach Club. If anything I thought it would be a nice way to surprise them with the trip next month?

Yes, unless you want them pulling out their phones constantly. I much prefer MBs for park entry and paying for things.

Merged your question with current thread asking about purchasing MBs for adults and kids. Hopefully some of the answers already posted will help you.

We managed quite well with the paper or CC like tickets until we got free MBs. DW (me) just kept them in a lanyard around my neck and got them out for everyone. I’ve seen lots of mommas struggling to get their preschoolers to hold the bands correctly against the readers. I think it’s probably a wash between tickets and MBs. BTW, we have used old MBs numerous years so no need to buy new every time. Unless you want to. I agree that phone batteries will be an issue for many. I already take a portable charger into the parks even before the new phone-oriented system.

We prefer magic bands, but we also wear them all day so we aren’t digging them out of a bag. If I wouldn’t wear it then we would just use the cards.
