Do you still bring a camera?

I have always brought along my point and shoot, and sometime my Kodak that makes still shots from the video. But it seems my new Iphone 7 takes better photos than the cameras do!
What have you al been doing lately? Do you still bring both with you? or do you find the Iphone is good enough and takes great pics?
This is the first time I've ever had an Iphone that took decent pics, so Im wondering what I should do?

Thanks for your input!

I love photography, but never actually unfortunately had a camera myself. The reason why I chose the phone that I do now is due to how great it takes photos and that is essentially all that I do is take them with my phone. It's more efficient and convenient in my personal opinion, as it's easy to take it out on the go when you see a great moment, takes beautiful photos, and it fits easily into my pocket.

Stopped bringing a secondary camera years ago. The 7 is water resistant enough for any thing you will do, so no special bagging needed for out and about and water rides.

I'm a part time professional photographer... for casual photography, the newest smart phones (including the iPhone 7) have truly surpassed casual use of stand alone cameras, in most situations.

I bring a very expensive camera, a specialized set of lenses. I manually set my camera, and I do hours of Post processing after the trip. Thus, I'm getting images I wouldn't be able to get with an iPhone.

But if I was just clicking a shutter on auto, I'd stick to the phone.

Camera...I don't have a cell...not a fan. Love my Canon camera though :)

Completely agree with this. Don't bother to bring a separate camera unless you have a very nice DSLR with very good and specialized lenses. It's just a bit of a pain and kind of heavy to carry around all day like that. Plus, it can be a pain to try to find a place on the rides to put it or the camera bag, as well as trying to cram it and all of your stuff in lockers. We bring our nice camera most of the time, but we have a fairly nice camera and really enjoy the art of photography. Love my lenses that allow me to take pictures on dark rides, dark rooms, or at night without a flash and without graininess.

EDIT: Plus, with all of the locker rides, it limits where you can take pictures at Universal.

I don't...my phone is good enough. Plus the more you bring to the park the more of a hassle it is at the security check.

I don't take a camera or a phone into the parks. I guess I don't like pics of myself enough to need a bunch and as for pics of the area, I will just look at someone elses lol. I like to be as hands free as possible. I'm always baffled by a person carrying a backpack full of stuff into the parks. Unless you have a baby, I can't imagine what in the world someone would need?

Planning for anything I guess...I don't get it either.

I will be bringing my waterproof camera for the water rides but for those attractions where you have to put your bag in a locker, do most people keep their cell phone with them?

Only when my primary goal of the day is to take pictures. At Disney it's significantly easier since you can bring the camera/bag on the rides. At Universal I leave the camera at the hotel during our prime ride times and take the camera out for our times where we just explore.

Every time I see it, I think what a PITA it must be to constantly take it off and put it on every single time you get on a ride. It worries me to death. LOL But hey, I'm still a fanny pack girl and people make fun of me I'm sure.:jester: BUT that being said, I have BOTH arms up on Splash Mountain and no death grip on anything between my feets! lol

OMG yes! At Universal you can barely take your wallet on a dang ride! Drives me crazy!

I mean, I get it. The Disney rides are much less intense, so the risk of stuff falling out is low, but it makes it way less convenient for photography.

What is annoying is that your stuff can be completely protected ie; a runners belt or a fanny pack which is latched onto you and zipped and they still make you remove it. I totally understand loose things but not the others.

It's a case of a few idiots ruining it for the rest of us. Some teenager could put coins in the pack and proceed to throw them from the ride.

I believe something like that actually happened on Dueling Dragons.

so now matter whether its a running belt or a huge backpack, you still have to take it off for the rides and store it? Whats the point then? UGH May as well just bring the big backpack with everything you need if you have to bother with the lines/wasting time, etc before getting in line for ride....

Yep, my best friend and I had running belts on under our shirts and the metal detector caught her on The Hulk, but not me for some reason. She had to take it off and go put it in a locker. Now granted that was the only ride that caught us...it was a hassle nonetheless. Also it was the only coaster we rode that trip. RRR always catches me.
