Do you stick with your must-do's or try new restaurants?

Do you book new or old restaurants(ones you've tried before and liked)?

  • I book almost all must-do's, the same restaurants every trip

  • I book an even mix of must-do's and new restaurants

  • I book almost all new restaurants, with only 1 or 2 tried and true restaurants

I tend to stick to most of the same places strictly out of location. We don't want to have to spend a lot of time traveling to eat so I stick with the TS that are in the parks to maximize park time. I would be more than willing to check out new places if they put them in the parks though

You can put DW and I in the evenly mix it up. We do have our favorite's we like to go to, but are always up for trying new places. On our last trip, we tried 4 new places and found a new HAVE TO for the next trip.

I try to keep changing things up to try new places, but the family and their must-dos sometimes make it hard. We're also quickly running out of conveniently located places we have yet to try, and I'm not going to plan a trek over to Turf Club or Olivias to try something new when there are plenty of old favorites that don't require going out of our way.

We do a little of both. For our trip next month our breakfasts are all places we have been before, but our dinners are split between places we have been and new places.

I'm currently trying to set up my ADR's for our trip that we just booked for November. I like to try new places mostly and just keep @2 must-do's every trip. DH then chimed in and said "if you're planning ADR's, you have to book...", and listed about 5 must-do's, which almost take up all of our TS credits.

How many must-do's do you keep every trip? Or do you mostly book new places to try something different? I'm looking forward to seeing what everyone does. Thanks.:goodvibes

We (being myself sister and BIL) like character breakfasts so we do some of those and switch around each trip. for dinners we do some favorites but usually try some new ones. we will be going again in 29 days and staying 12 days so have one signature booked and rest TS mix of character meals and steak and seafood meals...I PUSH for new places but my sister would go to the same ones every trip if I did not.:sad2: she has to have a baked potato if she eats steak:rotfl: so years ago I called each place to see who had them...but we have came a long way as 59 trips ago all she would eat is a hamburger and fries:rotfl2: but little by little have got her to ---explore---:cool1: what one won't do for sisters:yay:

We go to our favorites each time and rarely try anything new, especially at dinner. If I swapped out a favorite and was disappointed I would be upset. We love our regular places, but sometimes we do try new places for lunch. We don't use the dining plan, so experimenting with restaurants at lunch is usually much less expensive. Last time we tried The Wave for lunch and enjoyed it.

We like to mix it up and try new things. Sometimes it may be more simple like on our next trip we are going to CP for breakfast. Have eaten dinner there a few times but never breakfast. Of course there are places we like better than others but so far we have never been disappointed.

We do a combination. Dh and I have different food tastes so its hard to agree on new ones.

In May our new ones were
Citricos for our anniversary
Flying Fish (both didnt care for it)
Hollywood Brown Derby (went with one of the Breast Cancer sistas)
Garden View Tea Room (went with one of the breast cancer sistas from the comm. board)

For our december trip the new ones we are doing are:
Rose and Crown and Yak and Yeti. I dont think dh is going to like Y and Y as we have great chinese here in NY.

For our May 2012 trip it will probably be most of the same ones but right now I am thinking of trying either the Wave, BlueZoo, Il Mulino,Sanaa or Jiko. I will have to run the menus by dh.

I am more a creature of habit

All of our TS choices are new to us this year. We are on the DxDDP & will only have 1-2 OOP meals. I'm gonna try to have no repeats for those, too.

This trip is more new for us than usual.

Teppan Edo has always been a must do, but we're not going this time because we're with a group that's bigger than the table size (it's not that we object to being split up generally, but at Teppan Edo, where the entertainment is so focused on the table, we would rather go when we can all sit together).

So we're going to:
Restaurant Marrakesh (new; I have just discovered a love of Moroccan food)
Chef Mickey's (new; we like to have 1 character meal)
Tutto Italia (new to us; the other part of our group requested this one as they have enjoyed it in the past)
Coral Reef (old favorite; especially of my brother, who *always* asks to eat here; it also happened to be where we could get a CP package on the day we wanted)

As compared to our 3/10 trip
San Angel (the one in the pavilion by the volcano; usual; we love the atmosphere, but we weren't crazy about the food so it went off the rotation)
Teppan Edo (usual; loved the food, see above about table size)
Liberty Tree Tavern (last time we had been had been a character meal, which was great, this time it was just a la carte lunch, OK, but not great)
Le Cellier (usual; love this one, but took it off the rotation for the next trip to try new things and because it is on the expensive side)
Garden Grove (had been before, but it wasn't a character meal then; loved the character interaction--possibly the best we've ever had, but the food was mediocre, especially at the price!)
Brown Derby (I think this one was new; I actually sat there and didn't eat because of a stomach bug, which was annoying as I was the one who really wanted to eat here; we're not going back this trip because it was expensive, but I would definitely return in the future)
Coral Reef (usual; see above)

I would definitely return to Brown Derby, Le Cellier, and Teppan Edo again; I would also consider return trips to Garden Grove, Biergarten (we went a lot on previous trips), Crystal Palace (ditto on previous trips), CRT (if we had little kids).

I'd like to try Cape May Buffet, Flying Fish, Kouzzina, Askerhus (fat chance of that as my family aren't all that adventurous eaters) one of these days...

We have 4 must do restaurants (Le Cellier, Akershus breakfast, Cape May Cafe breakfast, and Cali Grill) which we always have to do each trip. After I make those ADRs, then I book the new restaurants that we want to try, after that is all said and done, then I book the restaurants that we have tried before and want to return to.
