before you even go on this trip??
I am so sad i didnt know about this site until last week or so. I am learning so much, and i am already planning a next trip, and we havent even left for this trip yet. LOL
My Dh says it will be a couple years before we get back, and i have to admit, it breaks my heart a little. I understand his reasoning ( financial) but I keep dreaming big.

He has never been to Disneyland before, ( or any theme park except knotts berry farm) and i am so hoping he wants to go back soon.

So, if you are starting to somewhat plan another trip, do you take notes while you are in the park for things you want to do, buy, see??

Any recommendations on how to get the next trip plan started??

I had my Halloween trip booked before we left for our September trip (which included upgrading to APs). I also had "plans" for a trip in January for our anniversary, maybe spring break, and definitely summer 2010 onsite. Since then, we've added a xmas trip:cool1:, decided to do a weekend trip early March instead of Spring Break (not counting out a trip with just me and the kids though?), and maybe 2 trips in the summer?!? I had to ask DH how often we could use our APs before he'd quit going all together. BTW we are a 5 1/2 hour drive from Anaheim!!

As far as where to start: get an idea of when you'd like to go and start finding out what happens in the parks during that time (crowds, closures, etc). Then start searching for deals. Finally after your current trip, make a list of what you'd like to do again, what you missed, etc.

First of all, congrats on your trip on 4 days!!! :cool1:

I think the best place to start planning your trip is with a tentative date. It is easier for us to budget and plan school days if we have a date in our heads.

I also love the daydreaming that comes along with planning a Disney vacation :cloud9:.

I think that actually going back in 2 years makes sense, since all the new attractions & renovations will be pretty much ready. Now, I am reconsidering :rolleyes1

And you are absolutely right, this is by far the best place to learn about Disney. Great people, great advice, good vibes :goodvibes

Absolutely! We tend to go every year at Spring Break for a much needed respite from school and midterms. Is there a better place to recover? lol

If I could swing a trip in January this year, we'd so be there. However, unless something unforeseen happens, it's just not in the budget. I am truly considering upgrading our hoppers to DAP in March though so I'm already scheming to see where I can fit in another trip (or three...haha) during the following year. It all depends on class schedules and block out days.

I think I feel lost without a trip to plan. haha

As for fitting things in, we just try to do at least one new thing each trip. Our new things for March are Goofy's Kitchen and hopefully Ralph Brennans. With any luck, WOC will be up and running as well but I haven't checked on that lately so I'm not sure.

Your post made me chuckle a little, with this being your hubby's first trip and him saying it will be a while until you can go again.

In 2005 I took my hubby and then 6 year old, for their first trip, and my first in 18 years.
My husband had no desire to go to Disneyland, and said this would be a one time deal (we were going to the SoCal area for a 10 day trip).

Well we are 17 days away from our 5 visit since that trip! We have gone every year, and our last trip was March.
He is addicted!!!!
Hope for the best with your hubby, you never know when a Disney nut is hiding deep inside!

And yes, I am always planning, it just makes me happy, and makes it seem like another trip is just a dream away.

We leave in 5 hours for our Halloween trip. I already have a trip scheduled for January and I am trying to see if our schedule allows for a quick long weekend in December to see the decorations.

DH may be having to go to New Zealand on business for a couple weeks and I am eyeing a mom and son get away if he does.

I have several more trips up my sleeve that DH has no clue about yet. But it is best that way.

I am always planning a Disney trip.

We went to WDW this past May and Disneyland two weeks ago. Currently I am planning:

  • Disneyland June 2010
  • Disneyland October 2010
  • WDW December 2011

:cool1: :woohoo: :dance3:

I am about 6 hours away, and DH did tell me that when we recover from the bankruptcy and establish a bit of a savings, we will be buying an annual pass. So if he is stuck on waiting a couple years, as long as we get that AP then, it will totally be worth it. I will be happy to take the kids, randomly, throughtout the year, since we homeschool, and dont have to worry about school.:lmao: I just might make him regret promising me AP'. LOL

I am just so excited. We are meeting with our lawyer tomorrow, and instead of getting all my paperwork together, i am reading my Disneyland with kids planning book.. Bad me....

I just cant wait to get to "the happiest place on earth" and forget about all the bad stuff in our lives... I might have to move in there.:rotfl:

Oh most definitely! We head to DL in December, but I am already in the 'thinking' stages of our Halloween trip next year and our WDW trip late May/June 2011.

My DH wasn't a huge Disney fan UNTIL we went to the parks. Once we went, he got bitten by DP (Disneyonic Plague) and has been a fan since.

I've already booked my hotel for DL in May 2010. In 2 weeks, I'm booking my hotel for WDW in October 2010 and I've started planning for a December 2011.

Ahh, yes I do start planning next trip before going on current. Thought it was something silly only I did:rotfl: last November DD's tap group was there on the 5th and only a little bit of Halloween decorations were left up. We have never been there during the Halloween season.....sooo started planning this trip, leaving in 3 days  I think the more we go, we slow it down a bit and "notice" more. At least that is our plan for this trip. Hope you have a wonderful time  we're thinking of renewing our AP's while there so I can start planning again :cloud9:

Before we left for our last trip - May/June 2009 - we already had a trip planned to WDW in 2011 but since we returned, we have now got trips planned for April 2010 (our solo trip - proper honeymoon trip) and a trip planned for November/December 2010 (girl's only trip - DM, DD, DSisters).

We have also been talking about going back to DL in 2012 when all the changes are complete.

I can't wait for any of them! HAPPY PLANNING EVERYONE! :cool1:

I am planning like crazy right now! My adult daughter and I were planning another trip to WDW for next year but she recently moved out to LA to live permanently, so I've changed my plans to visit DL, and a few other places, instead. We were there once in 2000 when my daughter marched in the Rose Parade with her high school band, but we didn't get to see or do very much since there were 16 other bands there on the same day. I'm very excited about researching all I can about Disneyland, Universal, San Diego Zoo, etc. etc. and this board is the BEST since you can find everything on every park!!!! I'm planning a 2 week stay so I want to do everything. I'm sure I will have a lot of questions and look forward to reading all these posts every day! :goodvibes
