I've got hold of a CTMH catalogue (thanks to the kind DISer for putting me in touch  ) and my list of stuff is growing (you can't have too much paper, right:rolleyes: ) but I'm looking at the stamps. Do you use stamps, how much, what for etc? As my Xyron will be here soon, would I have any use for an alphabet, or is it too much work:scared1:

All views welcome!

I like my stamps but find I don't always thing of getting them out. My work area is in an open living area of the house & DH doesn't like to see my "junk" out all over. So when he put it together he have me an old 6' bookcase that he'd put doors on. My stamps are in a Sterlite tub in the closed cabinet. So if I don't think the LO through, the stamps sit in the cabinet.

However, if I really take time thinking...I love the variety of using stamped alphas on some pages & Sizzix on others. I also will print out titles from the computer - again for the variety.

Having said that, I don't have one of the fancy cutters like Cuttlebug, Cricket or Wishblade. Maybe if I had one of those I wouldn't still use them. :lmao:

Oh - and I use my non-alpha stamps on squares, tags, borders, etc. I do a lot with my Zig brush pens so I can use multiple colors on a single stamp. I also like to emboss the images...again variety. ;)

I stamp a lot. LOVE LOVE LOVE my acrylic stamps, especially CTMH and Technique Tuesday. I use my alphabets the most, but I definitely use others. I heat emboss frequently, usually just using UTEE on the edges of frames or borders.

I love to stamp, but like piratesmate, I don't always think of getting them out unless I've really thought through the page. I got some of the clear stamps the other day (the ones you put on the acrylic mounting block) and I LOVE them!! So much that I went back and bought some more. I have used my alpha stamps more on swap items, but I use my "shape" stamps (cats, dogs, etc.) on borders, tags, you name it!!

I've never seen a CTMH catalog. . .are they cool?

I use my stamps to make handmade cards. I usually forget about my stamps when it comes to a layout. With a layout I tend to use rubons, stickers, and die cuts. Need to remember those stamps.

The CTMH catalogue has LOADS of ideas (I hate to think how much they cost their consultants :scared1: ), and though I don't think I'd buy the pre-preinted pages I can see they'd be really useful say if you wanted to do an album in a rush or were teaching yourself from scratch. But I liked the variety of papers - they have more patterned ones than CM - and the co-ordinating stickers if you don't have the confidence to mix colours a bit. I was tempted by the stamps because they would be useful for a lot of pages (having two boys plus 3 nephews and a godson!), and the February offer is an alphabet set (upper and lower case) which I though would be a good deal. But my Xyron PCS is on the way (did I mention that:rolleyes1 ) so I'm not sure how much I'd use it. But it would be nice for variety and I loved the pens for the stamps rather than the pds (cos I always get messy with them :blush).

I'd say if you have a CTMH consultant near you try it once - mine is in Cambridge (about 100 miles away) so I'll have to take the quality on trust:)

CTMH has the greatest stamps. I love the storage envelopes, as well. Easy to store. Great to clean. Find a rep! They've got great stuff.

I'll have to check CTMH out! It sounds neat!! :thumbsup2

Haven't been to the DIS boards for a while, and just had to respond to this thread. I'm actually a CTMH Consultant and absolutely LOVE all of their products. I use stamps a lot for making cards and other goodies. At this point, I'm not much of a scrapbooker - more of a scrapbook product collector. LOL

For those of you who don't know - all of the CTMH stamps are CLEAR acrylic and you mount them on CLEAR blocks, so you can see exactly where you are stamping. When finished stamping a particular image, simply remove it from the block and return it to the 6x6 envelope. Now, you can re-use the block for other stamps. IOW, you don't have to buy a 'hunk of wood' for each stamp image as you re-use the blocks.

Now I need to figure out if it's time to plan another trip to WDW. :surfweb:

Of course it is - whether in 6 years or 6 months, there always needs to be one on the go:rotfl:

I love using stamps on my pages!!! CTMH and other acrylics work great to let you see exactly where you are placing the stamp. I also love Foam stamps with latex paint. They clean up so easy and are alot cheaper :thumbsup2 Stacylm

I LOVE to stamp (cards) but have just started using them in my albums. I love the alphabet stamps when I don't want to do stickers.

Hi! I'm the gal that helped you find your CTMH Consultant!

Of course, I love our stamps, but the main reason I got into stamping is because all of my children have "L" in their name. Will, Ella, and Olivia! When I would use stickers or rub-ons, I never had enough "L"s!

Also, there were just too many times when stickers I wanted to use did not match my pictures or my papers. With stamping, I can almost always find ink or paint that will match my photos and my papers.

I don't have the Xyron, but I do have a Cricut. Right now I'm using my Cricut more than anything, but that would be because I just got it for Christmas! I still use my stamps alot. I agree with the other posters, about having different variety.

Glad you're enjoying the catalog!

Thanks again Twingle! I searched my PM box but that's what you get for being tidy!

I use my stamps (mostly CTMH because they take up so much less space!) for cards, kids school projects, church projects, and non disney layouts. I haven't found many Disney stamps I like. Disney stuff needs to much color IMO to work well.

I try to buy stamp sets that can be used for many different things (leaves, flowers, hearts, snowflakes, etc.). Rather than just, say, halloween set that I would use once and be done with. They're too expensive for that.

I love to use stamps when my layout calls for it, but like Deb, unless I remember to take them out, I forget! I do love Technique Tuesday the best and have a few of those. :)
