All my life I have felt like I was born 50 years too late. My take on everyday things mirror the 30's and 40's. From the music to the style of dress to the wonderful art deco furnishings to the cars.

Do you feel you were born in the time period that best suits you?

I sometimes think that I should have been in my twenties during the disco era... (I'm 23 now) I'm really into disco music and just love some of the dance moves! It's cheesy, I know, but it seemed like a fun time to be young.

I feel I should have been born in the wild west days, the whole horse and carriage, shoot outs, old towns. I am so drawn to Wyoming, Montana area. Other then Florida, that would be my choice of states to live in.

Only music...I adore big band and Sinatra. But I love most modern technology (computers, microwaves, etc.) wayyyyy too much to give it up ;) .

Denise < --- oh, and VAGUELY remembers B.P. (before pantyhose). Trust me, garters are only meant as an aphrodisiac, not a daily torture device ;)

Yes and no. I love the Victorian era- the clothes, the houses, the manners, the customs, etc, BUT as a woman who doesn't fit into the "housewife/mother" role , I don't think I'd do well in that era unless I defied the traditional roles and became a suffergette or something!

I would have LOVED to have been around in western pioneer times! I always wanted to head west in a covered wagon!

I have to agree. I love all types of music and time periods.
I think I like the 20's the best, but don't think I could have lived well back then.
Women still were second class citizens, and I would have shot my mouth off.

I would have been in a lot of trouble if I lived during that time.

Love the styles, music, just not the mens attitudes!

I always thought that it would have been "better" to have been a teenager during the 50's. I always felt that being on the tail end of the baby boom meant that I missed all the excitement of the early days of rock and roll.

Then again, if I had been a teen in the 50's, I'd be older now.

I think I should have been born in the late 50's/early 60's. I would have been better suited to being a teenager in the 70's rather than the '80's!

I have always had a fascination with the 30's. The golden age of Hollywood was so amazing. I would have loved to be around to experience all the great movies and celebrities from that era. I guess I'll just settle for watching the reruns and reading books about it.;)

I feel I was born at the wrong time.....I love all things Victorian or the 30's and 40's (1900)
sometimes I feel so displaced.

I sometimes think I would have liked to be an adult in the late 50's and early 60's. There was an optimism about progress and the future back then that we seemed to have lost.

On the other hand, I think of all the wonderful things I have access to now (DVDs, the internet, computers, computer games, microwave ovens, medical breakthroughs...) and I doubt I would go back if I could. The past would be a great place to visit, but I wouldn't want to live there.

As much as I'm happy with where I am now I would have loved to be a teen in the 50's. There is just something about the clothes and the ideas of what people thought the future would be like that I love. Like in the movie Pleasantville... now I know it was nothing like that but I would have loved to live there. Whenever there are those shows on TV where they show the kitchen that turns into the bedroom and stuff like that, I love it.

I was born at exactly the right time. I feel lucky to have been in the right place and time to meet DW:D

I feel like I was born in the right time.

Sometimes, but I don't think I would have done so well a couple hundred years ago. :teeth:

Do you sometimes feel you were born in the wrong time period?

No, but sometimes I wonder how I lucked out to be born in the best time period! What if I born in the 1800's when there was no DisneyWorld!
