Do you sleep with your wedding ring on?

I NEVER wear jewelry or a watch in the house. Ever. I take them off the second I walk in the door. And that includes my wedding ring. I could never SLEEP with it on (and it's not tight, I just don't like the feel of sleeping with jewelry.)

Same here, I take them off as I walk in the door. I have a ring stand next to my cell phone charger and my watch goes there also. I put them on as I walk out the door.

I never take my wedding band off, even to sleep or shower. I've gotten so used to wearing it that I feel naked without it. I also wear my watch all the time (except for the shower) for the same reason, I feel naked without it. My engagement ring is different, I can't wear it to work cause of the high mounting and I work with my hands so I only get to wear it on my days off (otherwise it's locked up).

I think I have my rings off more than they are on. :rotfl: I only put them on when we have company or I am out in public. I love my rings, but sometimes they bother my fingers--so as soon as I'm home, they're off!

I don't think I have ever slept with them on. There are many days they don't go on at all. I rarely wear them to work. My hands are in gloves all day and it is uncomfortable. I don't need to wear my rings to know that I am committed.

I've been engaged for almost a month now, and my ring has been on almost the entire time. I now feel 'naked' without it on. Its a part of me.

I miss my eng ring. At one point during our engagement, I was taking naproxen. Only to find out that I am almost deathly allergic/sensitive to it. I found out out while watching my fingers swell up like sausages, then go back down, then up, down...and finally my eyes noticed the bottle of pills...took off the label to read the info, not much info, went online, wow, that's a sign of a problem! The swelling happened once more, and it happened really really fast, I was panicking it was getting so tight. Oh, and it's a thick, heavy hunk of platinum... My roommate was on the phone with a friend, and the friend's friend told me to spray my finger with Windex...it worked to get off the ring!

My finger was never really the same, even though I never took naproxen (aka Aleve) again. (and I actually was diagnosed with naproxen poisoning shortly after)

I was able, after losing some extra weight, to get my damaged finger back into the ring, and I wore it for my wedding. I do have a wedding band but I hate it, it was all we could afford; my hubby's ring is more expensive than my wedding band, and his was inexpensive as well...

I became insta-pregnant after our wedding, and shortly after couldn't wear the ring. By the time DS was 1ish I could wear the ring on my *right* hand, but not my left. Then after he was 2 I gained a bunch of weight and can't wear it at all. So I miss my eng ring.

I have a place-holder, LOL, a cheapie tanzanite ring from ice.com, and I generally wear that...but not always.

A wedding band is not for show ... its a sign of commitment.... :confused3

Are these people only committed 8-5? :rotfl:

:hippie:

Perhaps those people are like me, and feel exactly the opposite as you do. Commitment is in the heart and head...the flashy shiny thing on the hand is for show.

I don't wear my ring anymore, Once the circle of commitment was broken, I felt the ring was no longer a sacred:sad1:,

I agree with this- its silly that people put so much into a wedding ring- it isn't the ring that means anything--its the commitment that the 2 people make to each other from their hearts, not a stupid piece of metal. I know some guys who are cheaters and they cheat with wedding rings on- I know others who don't wear wedding rings and they are totally committed and don't cheat--- the ring means nothing!

I only ever take mine off if it's getting cleaned or if I'm cooking something messy that I need to put my hands into.

I used to sleep with it on all the time, but when I was pregnant with DS10, something happened to my skin. My fingers started breaking out in-between, so i had to take them off. I got into the habit of taking them off every night, and still do, 10 years later.

I had to take mine off during my last pregnancy and the first 2,5 years after that because I was overweight. I never dared to hope that I would loose enough weight to be able to wear my weddingring again. But I did. Lost almost 50lbs, and I can wear my weddingring again.

I only take it off when colouring fondant for the cakes I bake.

I never take my wedding band off but do take off my diamond usually when I get home from work.

Mine won't come off! I can push on it and see space under it, but no way this baby would come off my finger! Stuck on there.

I remember when my engagement ring, which I used to wear all the time too, had a prong break on it. We went to the jewelry store and he had to cut it off so we could have new setting made for it. He asked me if I wanted the wedding band cut off too, said something like "now's your chance", LOL!:lmao: I was like "no, that's okay"......

When Dh was using a table saw, he cut the tips off of two fingers and had to go to the ER. I was not home and a neighbor took him. When I arrived at the ER, they were discussing cutting his ring off because his fingers were so swollen. Of course, there was no choice, but I broke down in tears. :sad1: He had not removed that ring since the day I placed it there. Now it sits in pieces in my jewelry box and he has never expressed any interest in getting it fixed.

Almost never take mine off. Only for messy work in the kitchen, pretty much.

I love the look of my set for one thing. I have my original engagement ring and a 10-year anniversary band from Tiffany's. Also, if it's on my finger, I don't have to worry that it's lost or being stolen!

I take my engagement and wedding rings off to sleep about 90% of the time. The other 10% of time, I usually end up waking up in the middle of the night with swollen fingers and take it off then. I also take them off for messy cooking and when putting on lotion.

My hands swell so easily, I had to move my rings to my pinkie finger yesterday when I was taking a walk. It was only 65 degrees out --- this will be the first summer I've had both rings, and I will probably only be able to wear them when I an indoors in air conditioning.

I wear three rings, two are wedding set and one that husband gave me for our anniversary, and I take all three off as soon as I walk in the door at home. Jewelry bothers me at home for some reason, can't wear necklaces for long, wedding rings eventually will cause my finger to itch, might be cause they are a bit tight since I gained weight or maybe I'm just allergic to jewelry :upsidedow It drives my husband crazy cause he loves to buy me some (that I don't wear) and many times I leave the house and forget the rings, he sleeps with his ring on, takes it off to shower only.

I never take it off. However, I have to say that it's not my original diamond band-- that's in a safe. My fingers swelled too much when I was pg with DD, so we got a 2nd "Diamonique" one that's a size and a half bigger. I've worn that comfortably since... day in, day out.

I take mine off every night. My fingers swell during the night.
