We stayed at BWV last week and did the DVC tour, we loved it, gave our 500.00 depoist and were told to think about it, WE LOVE LOVE LOVE the idea of DVC but 150 points would really strap us. We came home and started looking for alternatives. We found RESALE WOOOOHOOO:Pinkbounc

We just found 103 pts at OKW, I called DVC and have to fax them a letter tomorrow stating we want to cancel, and asked if there is anyway we can buy only 100 points, answer was No, and then she told me 100 points wont get us a vacation(it will for us) we use weekends to travel and stay sun-thurs and only need a 1 bedroom or a studio. Anyway since we planned on buying with DVC and have to cancel can we go ahead and buy resale? Do you see any problems with this?

thanks again so much for everyones help!!

Sure, you can cancel. You might have to hound them for prompt return of your deposit.

You sound like you have the right idea. If you can buy a resale, why not? It's cheaper than going through Disney.

If you know that 100 pts will get you the vacation then don't let anyone tell you otherwise. 100 pts gets us over a week at VB.

You can always add on by resale or through Disney at a later date if you begin to realize you don't have enough points.

Good luck with your decision. Keep us posted on what you decide to do.:D

Will you get your $500 back? I think that DVC has a minimum of points that they will sell a new member, but I don't think that there is any rule against owning less......good luck with your resale!

You must keep in mind that you will pay the closing costs on a resale. This could be as much as $500 (not sure exactly how much), and could add as much as $5/pt to the price.
Over all, it still should save you some money on the total price because you are buying less points.

Good luck, and keep us informed...

also remember if you buy at OKW but want to stay at BWV (since you stayed at BWV and took the tour ) it could be tough getting standard rooms at 7 months and certain times of the year. Make sure you buy where you want to stay the most. If that doesn't matter then OKW is a good choice.

Good luck:wave:

yes, you can cancel and you entitled to your $500 back, dvc will mail it right away, you will get it back within a week no more then 2 weeks.

just remeber you think you may not need the points now, but you will be doing the add on dance sooner or later.

good luck and we hope you become a neighbor

:sunny:

I think you made a great decision! :)

My DH & I recently purchased a 100pt. BCV resale, after talking with a sales person at DVC, but deciding that 150pts was a little more than we could afford right now. We had no problems closing our resale, even though I had been talking with someone at Disney.

We plan to add on later, when it's more financially sound for us. But the 100 points is plenty to go every year for a week. This year we are borrowing into our next use year, because we are taking family with us. Otherwise, our 100 pts would have met our needs.

Congtratulations & Welcome Home!

You and I are in the same situation:earsboy:

We do plan to add on once I graduate nursing school, we hope to do HH end of may beginning of june for 110(the resale already borrowed 2005 points) so we would be getting 206, 103 expire March 2005 and we would book HH with those then use 2004 points(103) for next years vacation, hopefully back to Disney.

We did LOVE bwv but we are NOT adamant about staying there, booking OKW 11 months would be Perfect for us:teeth: plus if we do disney again next Jan:::::::::::hoping:::::::: we would do a studio and I hear they are bigger than the studios elsewhere.

you have all been a GREAT help I really appreciate it!
