Do you scrap every photo? If not, what do you do with the extras?

I'm about to start scrapping photos from our Disney trip. I think after I weeded out the bad photos, I still ended up with about 600 pics (we were there for 11 days). I'm sure I can still weed out some more that aren't the greatest, but I know there's way more than what I want to scrap. I mean, how many pics of fireworks do I really need, ya know?

Do you scrap everything that turns out decent (as long as it's not almost identical to other pics)? Or what do you do with ones that are still decent but didn't go into your layouts? If you just keep them in a box, will they really ever be viewed again? Thanks!

Pam

A few ideas: you could send the extras to family and friends; put some in a box for your kids to use on all those projects at school, church, scouts, etc; put some in a box for when someone needs a picture of you or you need them for something; swap them out with others; send to someone whose pics of fireworks, etc didn't turn out. :sunny:

i usually buy a photo album (from wherever the pictures were taken), and just put them into the album. :flower:

I don't scrap ALL of the photos...Just most of them :goodvibes Often I'll pick the "best" ones or the ones I really really like and scrap them. Others that are close or of the same thing...I'll either punch out or crop down bits and pieces...and use those also. I like doing that with things like the fireworks or little details. The rest...that I don't do anything with I'll see if my girls want to scrap or just file away in my photo box. :thumbsup2

I've found that after I went digital I have FAR less of those "extra" photos..but somehow I still manage to get a fare share of them. :thumbsup2 ...anyhow that is ONE of the reason I love digital cameras (I'm spending far less on photo processing and ending up with far less "extra" photos in the end).

I keep a photo box with all the extras I don't use, roughly organized by date, just in case I need then for something. Now that I went digital I have less extras because I delete the really bad ones right off the camera.

nope don't scrap them all. I have paired down my scrapping big time. I now use lots of 5x7 and a few 8x10's. I usually now just do 1 or2 2 page layout for each day we are on vacation. And if something special happens, parade character meal etc...that would get its own spread.
I pick out only the best. Before digital the extras went in pocket photo albums. Not they are burned to CD's. I do make photo slide shows and use almost every picture unless it is really bad then I delete it.

you could always scan them and keep them digitally. Other than that, I always just put them in a standard photo album.

I've given them to my DD13 who is also into scrapbooking :) Of course, now DS8 wants to get involved too :thumbsup2 so I've got to divvy 'em up!

I usually just put mine in an album. Even though I use a digital camera, I often will print off more than I use because until I'm actually working on the page, I'm not sure which shots I'm going to use, because I usually try to get pictures from different angles, distances, etc.

I always get 2 sets of pics. I stick one complete set in photo albums them I scrap my favorites, like the hights of our trip (a character meal, ride photos, etc).

All of my photos are digital so I have them all saved if I need them. I generally only get a hard copy of the ones I know I'm going to use which is probably at least 90% of them!

I am guilty of scrapping all of my photos, well at least the good and even fair ones. If I shoot 3-4 pics of the same thing I will delete the worst ones but if it's a one shot deal then I'll scrap it anyway.

The only album I did not do this for was my wedding album but I had purchased a pre-made album from Target and it only held 20- 40, I can't remember. I picked the very best which wasn't many, and scrapped those. I actually had a hard time finding enough photos to full the book. A friend took pics and they are just awful. I'm not really sure what to do with the rest, I know I'll never use them but I hate to toss them too.

I definitely do NOT scrap every photo I take ... sometimes not every photo I print! I save the extras in a photo box for use in holiday cards and also for other scrapbooks that are about specific people, happy memories, book of me, etc.

If you have the negatives, you can pay to have them transferred to disc, and then work wonders with them in Photoshop!

I could, it's mostly the background. We were married in a bar/dance club. Long story!!!! In the background is the bingo board and other things. We have one picture of the wedding party at the table and an ambulance in the background, one of the short order cooks in the kitchen sliced his hand open. It's rather funny now but that day was truly awful. DH feels so bad, he wants to get remarried at WDW but I'm trying to decide if it's worth the trouble.

Well, if I were in your shoes I would BOTH edit those photos so you can really focus on you two and the [invited] guests ... AND do a vow renewal at WDW! :) Then again, I am a diehard romantic. :)

Are we voting because I vote for a vow renewal! :goodvibes

Can I come? popcorn::

I'm just waiting for someone I know to get married at WDW. I tried to get my sister to do it, but she doesn't get the magic. :confused3 Plainly the girl is crazy.

Now you know weren't not talking just a simple vow renewal right? We're talking in front of the castle, Cinderellas carriage, Bernard and Miss Bianca as the best man and maid of honor. The whole nine yards.

And yes you're all invited you just have to pay your way! :rotfl2:
