Do you rewatch shows?

Sure. I watch movies I've seen before so why not live shows. But with live shows, repeats can be very different even with the same cast so that can be even more enjoyable. I've seen several operas, plays and musicals live many times over.

Me too! I've seen one broadway show about 6 times over the years, and just told my DH the other day that it has been TOO long since we have seen it! :D

Another thing to note - these shows are not static - they do change over time. A few of the shows include ad-lib sections that tends to be very current every time we go. So every show is slightly different.

There's also the fact that the performers are performing on a moving cruise ship. With live theater, you never know what will happen on stage - and I think that goes double for live theater on a cruise ship, which offers its own set of challenges. We once saw Twice Charmed on a *very* rocky night - and it was quite interesting watching the performers work around the fact that the stage kept listing! It was impressive - but also very funny as there were a couple of points they even ad-libbed to call it out. It made that performance memorable (and we *love* Twice Charmed so always see it).

I i love love theater and our cruises have been spread out enough that I enjoy going each cruise. However as others have said i won't go twice the same cruise.

My family is going on our second cruise on the Dream next year. We plan to watch the Beauty and Beast show but we’ve already seen Believe and the Golden Mickey shows. Is it worth it to rewatch the shows? If not what else do you do during that time?

We go to the shows EVERY SINGLE CRUISE. I've seen them dozens of times and still enjoy them. It's part of our cruise experience. I love going to them. I also love when first time cruisers come with us....love seeing their reactions!!! So yes, we rewatch the shows!

This is a weird question. I mean if you like the shows and want to see them, then why not? If you like broadway style shows, watching them once isn't a big deal. We have only done a few shows on repeat, our favorite of which was villains tonight.

Now we usually find other things to do (or not). My son is usually only good for one show a cruise anyway.

I think I’ve seen the Villians tonight show about 6 times. I loved it and was sorry they took it off. Although I’m so excited to see Beauty and the Beast in 47 days! If they show that one twice, I will definitely catch both shows. On the other hand, I was one and done with the Golden Mickeys. I know a lot of people love it on this board, but I just found it boring.

We go to all the shows, unless we are too tired that specific day. By now, I think we saw Dreams, the Golden Mickeys and Twice Charmed around 6 times and we still enjoy them. The performances vary a lot from one cast to the next.

We still go to all the shows 15 cruises for us. When we did a b2b on the magic, we really liked tangled so saw it both times. The others we saw once each. We are heading out on the dream next month so will see batb for the first time. On the Wonder we’ve seen frozen, but don’t go back for a second show. When not at the theater for the shows, we’ve been catching up on the movies.

I'm planning to watch them again, unless they do double BATB again. I like that the broadway shows are not as late at night as the other evening entertainment as my kids on still on the early to bed, early to rise schedule. But if they do double shows again, we are going for a night swim instead.

I’m more inclined to see a show over and over than DH is. We’ve been on over 20 DCL cruises together, and we’ve seen most of them three times or more.

I re-watch the shows on each cruise. My husband and kids will sometimes see a show a 2nd time, but after that they are done. Sometimes I'll go to the show alone and they will go to see the movie, which does not bother me at all.

Isn't it fun to see they varying preferences? I'm thrilled that you loved Villains, though it is my personal least favorite. One of my top faves was the Hercules show. :cutie:

Getting ready for my first platinum cruise, and DH's first official gold, we love, LOVE the broadway style shows as well as most of the non-Disney entertainers, and going to the show each night before our 2nd seating dinner is a highlight of cruising for us.

I asked DH the other day, what he was most looking forward to on our upcoming Fantasy cruise. He thought for a bit, seemed a bit embarrassed, and then admitted it was THE SHOWS!!!! And I love that. :cutie:

Having done so many cruises across all the ships I don’t really make the shows a priority. I know I wouldn’t see the same show twice on the same sailing. If I’m with someone who wants to go to a show I’ll go. I doze off most of the time anyway. LOL!

The only show I won't see Twice is Twice Charmed!!! The good thing about the double show nights now from what I can see is there's a different Variety act going on each night or other event where as in the past it seemed like to me the show was the only scheduled option. I'll get to test this theory out on the Magic in a few months and hope something better is planned opposite Twice Charmed.

We don't cruise often, so we're happy enough to see the same show again when we do. And I can't be sure, but it seems like they're updated every now and again with new scenes.

I can't really imagine a scenario where we wouldn't watch the shows, even if they're the same. The "Broadway" style entertainment is a big part of the appeal of a Disney cruise for us.
