On our 1st cruise I booked on the phone and the agent offered a 4 top dining table for my family...we really liked that so I requested the same this time....What do you think my chances of getting one are on the Dream?

Most requests are granted if they are made in advance on your reservation. People who wait till they are on board to request often find they can't be moved to what they want.

IF for any reason someone finds their tablemates to be unsatisfactory, they will be allowed to move by talking with the head server.

We haven't had much luck with tablemates so we always request a private table. We have found that if you have main seating sometimes it can be difficult getting your request.

First cruise we were seated at a table for 8 that included an older lady that criticized and watched what I ate. :( I've had stomach surgery and ended up ordering off the kid's menu that night to get something I could eat. We requested and were moved to a private table for 2 and it was great.

The second cruise we ran into a couple on the ship that we overheard complaining about EVERYTHING. We were seated at a table next to them at lunch when we got onboard which was very unpleasant. I jokingly said I hope we are not seated with them at dinner. DH laughed and said so many on this ship what are the odds? Wel,l as we were led to our assigned table that night. :scared1: there they were! We asked to be moved but had to move to late seating because main seating was full.

Third cruise we went with family, requested, and received a table for 5 and it was great!

Fourth cruise also requested a table for 2. Went to Rocking Bar D to check on this request. Was told we were at a table for 8 with people around our age, thought this sounded great. Arrived at the dining room to find ourselves seated at a table of MUCH older adults. The guy next to me was tearing up his bread for some reason and crumbs were flying and into my lap. Went up and requested a move and again had to move to late dining because main was full.
Does anyone know how many it takes at one table get your request granted? We booked a cruise for Jan and there will be 3 of us. I requested a table for 3 :thumbsup2

Would love to have some nice tablemates like I've read about on here. People who become friends and keep in touch even after the cruise. We love children so wouldn't mind being seated with families. I think we are just unlucky.

There are 4 of us cruising. I didnt make any requests. Someone told me that we would just get out own table :confused3 Sooo who do I call to make requests?? I booked the cruise thru Costco. TIA

This is very sad!

I've only cruised once but still remember the family we were with for those 4 nights. I doubt they are here on the Dis, but if by chance they are I still think about Ben, Fran and Sarah (not sure if the h is on the end) from our cruise on the Wonder in 2000. I did e-mail back and forth for a while, then we lost contact.

I hope I have nice tablemates again on this trip. I will be dining with them for 6 nights.

We've got our 2nd cruise this year. I'm hoping for nice tablemates. On our first cruise the people we sat with were ok but hoping for even better this time.

Ask your travel agent to add a note to your reservation. And then once on board there will be a meeting place to make changes to dinner reservations and add PALO/REMY.(in diversions maybe??) I always go there and reconfirm that we have a table to ourselves.

Our first cruise we didn't add a note-and we got a table to ourselves anyway. Last 2 cruises we added a note. There are 4 of us.

Our first cruise there were 10 of us so we had one big table. Last years B2B there were 5 of us including my FIL. We requested and had our own table. Gave FIL a chance to spend some nice quality time with the grandkids.

First cruise, just DH & I, we were with 3 other couples, which was great.

Second cruise, DH & I with 3 kids, we were with another family that consisted of 2 women and a teenage girl. That one was a bit awkward as the other family was a bit reserved and my family is anything but. Worst was pirate night, we were all in full pirate mode (dress & persona!) and they seemed to be taken aback by it.

This past weekend, just DH & I , we were with 2 other couples, although one of them never showed up. We had a great time with the couple who was there - they were a great fit for us.

DH & I are booked for the Fantasy in April - I think we'll just see who we end up with and ask to move if necessary. (I think 7 days of just DH all day and at dinner might get boring! :lmao:)

We are also booked in October on the Dream, with all 4 of my kids - I think I will request that my family be seated alone for that one - to spare others who might not get us!! pirate:
