The first board on the DIS I found was the budget board....way back in 1999.::yes:: The "hot topic" at the time was Disney ticket promotion called "Magic in a Box". With your ticket purchase through disney world, you would receive a hat box filled with GREAT disney surprises. :bounce: Things like WDW license plates, Birnbaum's WDW guide, a disney beanie baby, luggage tags, guide books....all kinds of neat goodies!!:teeth: I think this was also when I realize what a true "force" these boards were. Word spread like wild fire about this promo and disney didn't specify "one per household". Oh boy did they ever get swamped!!

Do you remember your first posts or what the hot topic of discussion was?:p

My first posts were on the Resort Board. I didn't know the CB existed until several, several months later.

Yes I remember my first post it was in response that someone had made about not liking the Backstage Magic Tour.

My first posts were on the trip planning boards about how soon to make reservations for an on-site hotel and whether or not my 6 year-old would enjoy Afternoon Tea at the GF. Granted, I didn't join until last Feb.-so it's easy to remember. ;)
I do wish I had found the DIS before my previous Disney trips, though.

IIRC, mine were on the DVC Rent/Trade board, in preparation for my November 2001 trip. (We wound up renting from a wonderful DVC'er and stayed in Old Key West.) I found the board through Mousesavers, I think.

You guys are funny! I have only been on here a year and I have no clue what my first post was. It might have been on the resort boeard, or it could have been onthe family board. No clue!

A neat way to "jog your memory" is to do a search for your user name. Kind of neat to look back and see what was going on a couple years ago! :hyper:

Mine was asking something on either the Sea World or Universal baord. Probably the Universal one. I originally came here to research Universal, when we were planning our most recent trip. It was a month or so later that I realized how big this place was.

Waayyy back in 1998-99(?) I asked for tips on touring the brand new AK. A lovely poster named CathyCanada gave me a detailed plan , which I followed faithfully. ;) :D

My first posts back in Jan 2002 were on the Theme Park Attract. and the Orlando Hotels and Resorts board. I didn't discover the CB until after my first Disney trip in Oct. 2002. I remember being a little nervous about it.

Now I've gotten addicted to many more boards including this one and the DCL one. LIke I need more to occupy my time, lol :p

Mine was on the cruise board in early 2002. I found this through a link off Barb and Tony's website, which I found off epinions.

I think I asked about the dining room temperatures (something that I was really worried about!). Didn't find the CB for about 4 months, but have popped in here on and off ever since.

My first post was on the DVC board, don't remember what I found the cb through a thread about the tag fairy.

I lurked on the Cruise board for a few months. DH and I learned so much for which we are grateful. I posted our trip report there for 2003 and 2004.

We've learned alot from the boards.

It was several months before I learned of the CB. I really enjoy touching base as often as I can with my Dis family. The exchanges are a hoot. One day I hope to be able to go to a dis meet. Love y'all.::yes::

Mine was on the DB. I posted something about Robert E Lee not being a traitor and AFR jumped all over me. ;)

This is bad, I honestly do not remember what my frist post was about or even if I used my real name  I guess nearly 6 years will do that for ya ;) I do think it was probaby about CSR though since that is where we planned on staying at that time :)

I probably wouldn't have remembered my first post, but when you get flamed the first time you post on an Internet BB EVER, the first time you plunge in on the Internet EVER, you tend to remember it. :p

It was the fall/winter of 2000. I was on the Budget Board. Someone asked if it would be okay if: she brought her own food from home to the All Stars because her family couldn't afford to eat out for every meal, if she brought her own plates and bought/paid her drinks at the food court for her family, could she use the plastic ware they leave out in the open in the food court. I said "Sure! If Disney didn't want their paying hotel guests to use the plastic ware and little condiments, they would have them under lock and key for sure!"

Someone came on right after me and told me I was a thief and a stealer. I was crushed! I was embarrassed as anything and didn't post for a couple of months after that-- and stayed away from the BB for a long time! ;)

Oh oh, I hope this doesn't turn into a debate now! :teeth:
