Good morning,

This post could also be titled June? Lol. We have basically two days in Disney. June 23(F) and 24(S). We are coming in Thursday and plan on buying the 3 day ticket and doing some exploring on Thursday night. We will get a magic morning with that ticket. The only day to use it would be Saturday. Should we use it or should we opt to go to DCA that day instead? I'm reading that parks with the extra morning hours are busier that day + it being a Summer Saturday....I'm not sure what to do?

Thanks!

You will only get Magic Morning if you buy the ticket ahead of time. If you buy the ticket at the ticket booth then you get no magic morning.

I highly recommend using Magic Morning if you can. It's totally worth it.

I couldn't imagine we'd enjoy Disneyland as much as we(daughter and I) do without early mornings. Our routine for years has been to be in the park at opening, and ride as many rides as possible while the crowds are sparse. Takes the pressure off the rest of the day. The best part of DR is the mornings when the crowds are thin.

It sounds like you are only planning on going into the parks 2 days. If you buy the 3 day ticket I'd definitely go into the parks on your arrival night (Thursday). I wouldn't buy the 3 day ticket ONLY to get a MM. but, I'd definitely do the 3 day ticket and go into the parks arrival night and MM. You can sleep when you get home, lol.

magic morning is a bonus if you value Peter pan and multiple rides on space mountain. If RSR is a greater value for you then any attraction available MM, then for sure DCA on Saturday. I don't value RSR, such a gamble on if it is running and adjustments to your day if not running. The other value of MM is that it allows you more time in the ROA area when the the lands open to everyone, because everyone is still trying to enter the gates. ROA is an easy area to complete attractions in the morning. There has to be some consideration to how much time it takes to enter the Disneyland gates. with MM, you will be allowed early to a rope drop.

Thanks everyone. My concern wasn't so much about what to get done first thing it was more about the crowds the rest of the day...I have read that parks with the extra magic hours tend to stay heavier throughout the day so my original plan was to go to DCA (and DL on Friday)but the magic hours was possibly a change to the plan....do you find this to be the case? This combined with it being a Saturday makes me nervous for the day. I had not planned on getting a park hopper

..........."heavier thru the day".......

So that would be true on Saturday as folks are only visiting Disneyland. But those folks are arriving later into the morning and for sure will stay there into the night. The value of MM is that there are fewer folks to wade thru during the second hour that Disneyland is open, that is when you work hard to complete your must do list. I am not a tomorrowland fan, so when MM is over, I head over to the west end and by two hours I have experinced all the E attractions. Yes, after three morning hours in Disneyland, I do notice the significant increase in folks on the street, time to find a bite and experince the smaller magical moments and use of fastpass, still very doable and makes for a great day.

As for DCA, I have never opened the park, nor will I , even to find an advantage for RSR, so I cannot share the heavy feeling. I always have parkhoppers, so I always leave Disneyland around noon and head over to DCA for GRR and crush. But the problem with your stragey on Saturday, is that you are competing with RSR fans, folks who are going to send runners to collect fastpass and at the same time the same folks will be in stand-by. So you are are already at an dis-advantage with the large flow of folks, all in the same area, there will a small thinning as folks head to TSM and tower, but GRR is no a draw that early in the morning and screaming may or may not be open to still waiting for inspection. and Soarin with its slow loading process. folks are going to bunch around Radiator springs

So I think your focus should not be on " the heavy texture of folks" but what it that you want to accomplish the second hour in the park

Yes, use the Magic Morning by all means! Yes, get your 3day ticket in advance thru Costco Travel, Walt Disney Travel Company, or check with other posts about who has the Best Deal right now. :hyper2:

That is more of a WDW problem due to the ease of park hopping at DLR. People will start at one park for the extra hour and easily go to another park a few hours after opening. Are you buying park hoppers? Then definitely use the Magic Morning. Also, Saturdays in the summer are typically less busy than you'd think. It sounds wrong, but because all but the most expensive APs are blocked on Saturdays you really have a tourist population rather than a local population. This means the parks are sometimes less busy on Saturday than on Monday. A Saturday in June may be the best day to visit.
