Do you really spend alot of time in your room?

We spent quite a bit of time in our room... we were on our honeymoon after all

Even so, I would imagine that next time we go we will spend a lot of time in the room on our rest days.

We stayed at CBR and loved it!

I've not read all of the posts, so I may be reitterating this, but we were NEVER in our room. We stayed at AKL last time. It was really nice, but we came in long enough to shower and go to bed. We woke up got dressed and were out the door again. That's why we decided to stay in a family suite at ASMu this time. The two bathrooms in the suite will be so much more convenient and alot cheaper.

We (my dad, 76, and me, 33) spend quite of bit of time in our room, which is one reason we go Deluxe. My dad needs one, maybe two, good naps per day. We usually stay in the park until 1-2, then head back for a nap, go out for dinner and shopping, then back by 6-7 so he can shower and go to bed...leaving me a few hours to watch TV or roam the resort.

No, not unless we choose to. On our 'down' days we go to the Afternoon Tea, DTD, check out the other resorts and their restaurants, etc. We don't mind staying in the Value Resorts (All Star Music, and this year Pop), as we can spend the extra money on extras and souvenirs.

:snooty: :rotfl: Yes. A lot for me is 8 hours sleeping, 2 hours getting family of four out the door and 1 hour getting family of four in bed.

Add occasional 2 hour naps, swim breaks, enjoying the patio, and a few couch potato moments and we average 14-16 hours out of 24 in our room each day.

The price of the deluxe for us has more to do with less crowding, more cleaning, more amenities, more refurbishing, location to parks, etc.

Tried PC and would do a value again for a 1-2 night stay, but that's it!

We did spend a lot of time in our room. In the beginning we had no choice, DD had stomach flu. Thank goodness it was the Poly because we enjoyed our down time in the room. We actually went back to the resort after dinner one night and hung out in the room, then took a walk and watched wishes from the beach.

It ws our vacation afterall and I wanted to feel like I got some rest! What I did not get to see/do last time, I will do next time. :thumbsup2

We also spent a lot of time in our room. Stayed at CR with MK view. With to small children DD4 & DD5 we took afternoon breaks/naps. We enjoyed the evenings watching wishes from our balcony, so much that we ordered room service on a couple nights.

It rained for couple days so it was nice to be so close to the Magic Kingdom. We walked back and forth to get out of the rain.

We actually spend very little time in our room. Our typical day usually consists of an early wake up and off to the park for early magic hours. My wife will shower and I will run to get breakfast. We eat breakfast as we get ready, and are out the door in under 45 min for the three of us (we have a 5 yr old son to). We then come back at the end of the day (usually when the park closes) and go to bed.

Maybe one or 2 days we will head back around dinner time for some relaxation or swimming.

When DS was young and we were touring non-stop we spent little time in our room but as we have grown older and DH became less a fan of the parks we find the room more and more important! I really like having a balcony to escape to for a cup of coffee before heading out in the AM and to relax on in the evenings (even outside of Disney). We used to go to PI etc. when we were younger but now we relax more and more in our room after dinner or after an evening in the parks. And if we didn't have a decent room to start with I know DH would not travel to Disney in the first place. He likes to be with us on vacation but he is NOT a theme park person and gets downright cranky if dragged around parks all day so he meets us at various places for meals etc. The room is his refuge and a good sized one with amenities is crucial!

It depends. When we stayed WL, it was more convenience than anything with 2 little kids and the fact that we couldn't afford anywhere else near the Magic Kingdom. I like the queen sized beds. DS is a bolter and I am afraid of the open resorts b/c he can open almost any door lock.

After 15 trips in 20 years, yes, the room is important to me. Early in my Disney addiction, kids were smaller, incomes were lower and we never seemed to have enough time. We often stayed off site to save money, and would not have dreamed of paying for deluxe, for 1 night in a deluxe I could stay an extra 4-5 days. The older I get, the more I value my comfort. So our needs (and resources) have grown and changed, and now I do spend more time in the room, so now the room is important to me.
