Do you purposely avoid going to a park that has EMH'S just to escape the masses? Or do you like having the extra hours?

we like EMH, but we do have a way to skirt the crowds.
for morning hrs, we leave very early & get there in time enough to be standing right at the rope.
Evenings, we'll leave fairly early or close out the parks & I do mean close out, like some of the last families to depart :thumbsup2
we also drive back, most EMH evening hrs. or if taking the buses, put on our patience sneakers. We think mellow & will even wait the extra 15-20 minutes for the next in order to get a seat.
We never leave after the fireworks or when the crowd seems to be streaming out, shoulder to shoulder.
FYI, we always go during the slower seasons, so this is a factor, too. Also, Saturday nights we tend to avoid even regular evening hrs altogether

We also only go during the slower season. We always skip the parks opening early but do stay for the late hours. It seems that in the off season, most are families with small kids or no kids at all. So, they are already up early and hit the parks but, they usually head home early. So we find fewer crowds late.

I avoid parks when they have morning hours. I can never wake up in time to take advantage of them and so just avoid them in general.

I do try to go to evening hours though. Typically I'll get something to eat when the extra hours start and then see the sites afterward. I've noticed that gives the lines a chance to die down. Oh, and we always stay until the bitter end. Lots of time you don't even have to get off the rides then!! :teeth:

we try and avoid them....most everyone has the same idea...be the first there and join the crowds.

We always avoid EMH when we can. But it seems I should re-think - I never realized that the crowds slowed down during evening EMH's. I always assumed that everyone just stayed and rode & that lines would be crazy.

Another point -
It seems like the parks each have their EMH schedules set in stone and then add some more days in during busy seasons. Do they ever change up the "regular" EMH days?

Really not a problem for us when we bought park hopper tickets. If park that has the EMH was crowded beyond our tolerance level, we hopped to another park. We also enjoy the extra time in the parks not only for the attractions but just being in the park longer and shopping.

We now have AP's and do the same thing, really like the extended night time hours for EPCOT and MK, there's just alot to see in both parks and the extension hours helps. We don't go exactly when the EMH start but sometime during the night, we'll make our way over to one park with EMH just to gawk around.

If we hit a park on its morning EMH, we make sure that we get there for opening and will then cut out around 11 or 12. You will be surprised how many attractions you can walk on between 8 and 10. When the crowds build, however, we head to another park or usually back to our resort.
