Do you play an instrument?

I play a mountain dulcimer just for fun. Seen folks playing it at a museum and went from there.

I played flute and DH played trumpet. My DS14 started on trombone in 5th grade and has played tuba for 3 years now. He has also just started learning bass guitar.DS10 started playing trumpet this year and wants to also learn trombone. Works for me, as we have a paid for trombone not being used.

I taught myself how to play the keyboard & organ a little bit. I still can't read music, so all the books that I have all the letters on the notes. :p

Music major in college. Pipe organ was my principal instrument. I enjoy playing at my church. Also play piano a lot, plus a little recorder.

I play the piano, I started when I was about 5. Took lessons until I started high school, but I can play by ear. It happens to run in the family. So you can name a song, and probably 9 out of 10 times I can play it if it's familiar to me. I love music. I miss piano (don't have one here in FL, since we moved from Chicago). But I REFUSE to buy a keyboard or electric one. I dream of owning a baby grand someday, and teaching my daughter....

OOH, ooh-looks like I got my chance to brag here-DS plays trumpet. Right now he's home from college til Sunday, then he's off to Disneyland where he'll be a member of the All-American College Band, playing at the Flag Retreat Ceremony and wherever else they put them until mid-August. Only 20 students got selected from Disney auditions at about 10 locations in the country (only one audition for the whole state of Texas, fortunately right at DS's college). That's a long way from when this little 11 yo boy walked into "instrument-selection" night at elementary school and his best friend said, "Hey, Matt-pick the trumpet, it's easy and I'm doing it, too!" Of course, I'm going to see him in late July-I'll be the one with the huge grin on my face.

I played the violin in hs. Everytime I look at my violin I become sad b/c I know I should still play it. Maybe I will take lessons again.

I took a few years of guitar lessons as a child but never play anymore. :guilty: I should get back into it, I really enjoyed it.

Me, no only voice and not that anymore. My hands are my msuical expression now.
My daughters on the other hand are both violist who also play violin and piano. Oldest plays guitar and recorders as well. She was just selected to play in the Canton Orchestra.

DH and I both play guitar. I also played violin in elementary school.

All forms of percussion (drums, xylophone, marimba, timpini, etc.), flute and some piano.

Flute is my main instrument. Started in 4th grade, and played through college. Took some years off, but now play again in a local orchestra. In HS, I also played some piccolo, and alto sax. I toyed around with the piano some, but never took any formal lessons or anything. I could plink out a few basic tunes. :flower:

ETA: I almost forgot, I played bassoon for about a month in jr. high, as well.
