Do you plan your QS?

I have our plans completed. I have our park days picked out, I have ADR's made.

However, I have no clue where we will be eating if we don't have an ADR. For example, we have an entire rest day, no ADR's.

Do you plan your QS meals, or do you just "see where you end up?"

we are planning our first visit, so not sure how useful I am, lol But I at least have a rough idea of counter service meals each day for 2 reasons:

1. my son has food allergies so I have to always have a plan and know who serves the allergy-free chicken finger things

2. We are following a touring plan to some extent so I at least want to have a rough idea of what CS locations are near where we'll be.

but to a large extent we'll just go with the flow on counter service as long as I know what is safe for my son to eat. (we are doing a fair about of TS meals just due to that)

I like to reasearch soem options that are in our planned path and have some ready ideas, but I don't put QS on the excel spreadsheet ahead of time.:)

We are also dealing with food issues from 1 of our DD's. We can normally figure something out for her, but, she can't have the breading on things, and she can't do the oils and such, also, no dairy.

I guess I should do a little reasearch.

We are also following a Touring Plan, so I should semi know where we are. I just did my planning sheet, and it looks bare for food!

Oh dear. This is turning into a food issue therapy session :lmao:

I dont plan the CS meals as in what we are going to eat, but due to allergies, I do research the options and make sure that I know of at least 2 good CS for us, preferably on different sides of the park so we don't have to walk a mile if we are hungry.

I don't really plan QS, but I do like to look at the menu and have an idea of what each place has. Usually we just eat whatever is close to where ever we are that has something we like. We do usually plan one trip to DTD to do WPE, or at least we used to. We also usually plan one trip to POP to do their food court.

This is what I do. I have a list of a few CS locations at each park (including DTD) and then when we get hungry, we see what's closest to our location and go there

I have a rough idea based on the menus where I would like to eat my QS. Last trip it was all the places we had not tried before with 1 exception for Columbia Harbor House.

You also get to know the menus and restaurants that suit you over time and it is not so much a case of planning, but simply checking for any changes that might affect you if you have allergies or picky eaters. :)

Absolutely. After 15 trips, I know where I want to eat. Doesn't mean that's where I'll end up. Last Jan I told my buddy for a week how much I love Cosmic Ray's, but our last MK day I got hungry in Frontierland, so we ended up eating at Pecos, a perfectly good place, just not my top choice.

As far as QS, we always just see where we end up. We make 1 TS ADR every day of the trip, and that's about as much planning as I can take for one vacation. I feel like the vacation flies by too quickly if I'm too planned.

We have our Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner planned out 6 months ahead and usually stick to it.

I would get the shakes if we planned a rest day, it would be anything but!:lmao:

I don't plan the CS meals, however I have in mind which places "could" be our stop if we are around it when we get hungry.

For instance if I am in MK, there is Pecos and Cosmic Rays. AK is Restaurantasaurus or Pizzafari.
Now Epcot is easy...Sunshine Seasons and we do not do CS at DHS.

The place that actually gives me a harder time is POP's food court....we always stay there and have a couple meals there but with the variety I always take 20 mins just deciding that one! LOL :rotfl2:

If we are at DTD for sure I plan to eat at Wolfgang Puck Express.
Really I planned our trip so we'll eat there two times!

Picky eater here! So, yeah, I have to have some idea of where I want to eat. I'm sure the food is quite good in many of the places where I won't eat (seasonings, sauces, foods mixed together)--my taste buds just can't handle the food that is served!

I plan which counter service restaurant we're going to because we don't want burgers/hot dogs when we're on vacation (that's our road trip food - we want better stuff at WDW.)

We almost always go to the place planned...very occasionally we'll opt for someplace different (like if we plan a CS in a park, but are ready to leave the park long before lunch...then we might go to DTD or back to resort for a CS lunch.)

I plan my QS! Mostly because I try to avoid the typical burgers, pizza, chicken nuggets, etc. You can get a lot of variety with QS meals if you know where to go!

My degree of planning varies though. Sometimes I pick out the one QS restaurant we will eat for that meal. Other times I narrow it down to a few choices.

We don't plan our CS as in "on tuesday we will eat at sunshine seasons". But we do think about a few things. For example, the time of a dinner reservation influences the time we will eat our CS lunch.

Like many other posters, I have an idea of which QS restaurants I would like to visit in each park and then see where we are when we are hungry. I'm so OCD that frequently I already know what I will be ordering too!! Frequently we will share meals as most of them are large and that way we can eat at more than one location. We never miss getting the chicken shwarma platter at Tangerine Cafe in Morocco at Epcot.

The only one I plan is Pecos Bill's in MK...I LOVE the taco salads and chili cheese fries. And I wonder why I always go home weighing more even after all that walking!
