Do you plan on going out on Thanksgiving for shopping?

Nope! I'll be working 5pm at Target.

It's not even worth going to dinner on Thursday. We opted to stay home. This is my 6th year working Black THURSDAY. It used to be fun when it was FRIDAY. Shoot, I didn't even mind a 9pm opening.

But it's just ridiculous nowadays.

Wanna know something? I bought my Target door busters 6am last Thanksgiving. At home. On the computer. Got the same deals. No crowds. Coulda even had a leisurely Thanksgiving dinner (if I wasn't working, lol)

Black Friday used to be a real event. Waking up at 4 am getting deals. Now you can get the same deal online all day Thursday, so what's the point anymore???

Working retail or not, I'm over it. Just not the thrill it used to be.

We are going to be in the middle of moving come Thanksgiving and decided to treat ourselves to a ridiculously priced pick up meal since being in two houses isn't ideal for making a Tday dinner. Then wehad a small financial issue, not enough to break us but enough to say that meal was too indulgent. So...maybe, I'm thinking about it.

I'm confused about the Target ipad deal, can't piece together if it goes live Thursday or Friday. I need two 32GB iPad Mini 2s. Realistically I'm only saving $50 over an Apple refurb that has the same exact warranty but then x's two that's a hundred bucks. Still thinking...

I did the same iPad deal last year. It goes live 12:01 am Thursday, so technically you can stay up late Wednesday night and get it, via computer. No crowd necessary

I will go out shopping if there is a great sale on something I want/need for myself or a gift. So far the Thanksgiving/Black Friday ads don't impress me but maybe something specific will catch my eye soon.

We will be having a Thanksgiving meal with my in-laws but it's not like that takes all morning/afternoon/night. I usually bring a few dishes over, they make a couple of things, and so do my sister-in-laws if their families come. It makes it not such a big ordeal.

Thank you! I could not find any fine print. Speaking of, is there a limit of one? It's not a big deal if there is, I can have my teen buy one on her account but it would be easier if I could just do it.

I've done it before, but it was YEARS ago, and I went Thanksgiving morning to get an amazing deal on a pre-lit tree at a big-box store. There were maybe 5 other shoppers in the store with me LOL. Times have changed!

DD and DH both work retail and will be working Thanksgiving Day. It's not a big deal for us, since we don't have extended family here, and I can serve dinner at whatever time works best depending on their work schedules.

Would I shop again on Thanksgiving morning? Maybe. I really do hate crowds - I get anxious just thinking about the madness in the stores around the holidays. Door-buster deals = people lose their minds! I'm not opposed to it, because I do love a good bargain, but honestly I'd much rather shop online.

Nope. I will be at work for the 35th Thanksgiving in a row. My mom was a Surgical nurse so Thanksgiving frequently was a work day for her when I was growing up. Just comes with the territory with some jobs.

When we started a family 27 years ago, we moved Thanksgiving to the Saturday after. All our family can be there, and several of our close friends, who had their family Thanksgiving on Thanksgiving, and then come celebrate with us too.

Me too... wish the stores weren't opening at 6 pm. It's just a bit too early for me.

It's perfect for me - last year, with the 8pm openings, I waited til 10:30pm to shop, so I figure this year will let me start a little earlier and not stay out so late...

I miss Black Friday. No, I won't be shopping on Thanksgiving.

I wouldn't be shopping, going out to dinner, or movies on Thanksgiving, Xmas or Easter. I even try not to travel on those days. I fully understand that some people need the discounts on the "stuff" to have presents under the tree and don't blame them for going.

I just cant do it. I really want the stores to be closed on these last family holidays.

Sales are pretty good the last two weeks of the xmas season too.

I'll be at CVS when they open to get my daughter a copy of the paper with Black Friday ads (I subscribe). I do shop the numerous CVS Thursday specials but that is it for shopping on Thanksgiving for me.

Being married to a fireman we can relate. He works Xmas this year so we do it on the 24th. I volunteered to work Xmas so other people can have it off.

This year we actually get to have Thanksgiving on Thanksgiving

We have three generations of Las Vegans here. We're 24/7 you don't get holidays off in Vegas. We just pick a day near the holiday. I don't think my oldest celebrated Christmas on Christmas Day until she was four or five, lol.

I don't have anything that would be on a Black Friday hot list unless maybe a video game for DS. I do most of my shopping online now but miss the true Black Friday days. DD20 & I loved getting up early to hit a few stores. We did the midnight opening but it wasn't the same. We always visit MIL/FIL and they have several chain stores right outside of their neighborhood.

I will not go out early on Thursday. If something is on sale or we get bored around 10pm, we might run out. I think we'll probably still get up early and get our Starbucks and wander around Target at least.

No shopping for me on Thanksgiving or Good Friday. It's too crazy to shop then.

I'm doing online only if I feel the need to shop that weekend.

Nope, it's just not right to do it on Thanksgiving. Next it'll be up to November 1! My kids all want big ticket items, so I don't have a bunch of shopping to do. I prefer to shop online, anyway. Might go Friday to see what's left of the deals.

Nope. I'm hosting, and on Thanksgiving evening I plan to be sitting by the fire with an Irish coffee.

I will not be shopping on Thanksgiving. The reason why I love the holiday so much is that it isn't about gifts, it's about family time and being grateful for what you have already.

Just my personal feeling.:)

Yes, our family dinner does not go late, we do it in the afternoon. So it's not like we are missing dinner or anything to shop
