Do you plan a special day of arrival meal?

We have done Chef Mickey's and Hoop Dee Doo in the past but next trip wanted to skip most of the char buffets since all three sons will be "adults" and for the little food they eat, it's just nutty. I had thought dinner in the castle would be pretty cool since with three boys, we've never done the princess thing but now I understand that is a set menu and characters as well.

Soooo, we want to spend our first day/evening at MK. Where would you consider eating in MK vicinity for either late lunch or dinner for a "special" arrival day meal?

How about Ohanas, food is good and if they don't like what is on the adult menu they can get something from the Kona. The Kona is also very nice and the desserts are fabulous.

Ohana, yes! It's been our tradition to eat dinner at Ohana the first night. It really gets you in the Disney spirit and I love watching the fireworks from there while sipping on one of many Island Sunsets... the BEST drink EVER!

We actually plan our "first night meal" around our hotel accomodations. So this year, it's 'Ohana for us as well!!!

Last year, we ate at Boma since our first night was at AKL. When we moved to the YC, we ate at Cape May Cafe.

We are so looking forward to having our first meal at 'Ohana. It's our overall favorite restaurant at WDW! Our 12 y/o wanted to eat at the CR, so I "bribed" him to eat at 'Ohana the first night by promising 2 meals at the CR during our trip!!!

Since were older now meaning my siblings my parents usualy treat us to the Yactsmen steakhouse our first night there

We always go to the Whispering Canyon Cafe. We love the atmosphere and the antics of the wait staff. The kids really love it. This June when we go we have ADR's for the WCC the first night. There are 12 of us that will be going.
