Do you pack your white noise machine for airline checkin or...

carry it on? Dh and I are wondering if the machine would cause that suitcase to be checked, or if it would cause more trouble if we carry it on.

I always bring mine in my carry on. I get strange looks and a few whispers from the x-ray techs as to what in the world it is but then my bag goes on through. I've never tried it in checked-in luggage.

We've checked ours every time and never had a problem at the airport.

I carry mine on and I have never even gotten a second look.

We've done both - carryon and checked with both Southwest and Delta and never had a problem either way. I'm glad to know we're not the only family who has to have their "noise" to sleep!

Keep in mind that this would be considered electronic equipment. Should something happen to it while checked there would be nothing the airline is required to do.

I carry on my white noise "sleep mate" every time I fly and only been asked once to show what it it. I think it has a small fan inside it, so it doesn't look too harmful in the xray.
