Do you pack for rain?

i guess it depends how comfortable you would be w/o rain gear. Visiting a warm place, I might take a rain hoodie or light plastic poncho. When we cruised to Norway this summer, we brought full on rain gear - boots, rain pants, rain jackets... because being wet for prolonged periods in cold temps would be miserable.

It was a pain to lug all of it, but we wore every piece of it.

Have fun!!!!

The only thing I always pack when traveling, no matter where I'm going, is a travel umbrella. I hate ponchos, but for some locations, I may take a rain jacket, which also doubles as a light windbreaker (windcheater).

The only exception is for Alaska and other areas I know I'll be getting a lot of rain, I take Goretex hiking boots and a Goretex jacket.

I pack an umbrella in my suitcase just in case. The one time I used it (short but heavy downpour on Castaway) it was worth it!

Not for warm weather trips where we will be in swimsuits most of the time anyway but yes for Alaska. We don't mind swimming in the rain etc as long as there is no lightning. The showers have been pretty warm and brief thankfully on our visits to the carribean. It is helpful to have some kind of bag that is water resistant so you can keep a change of clothes dry if you will be away from the ship for a long time.
