Do You Pack Extra Clothes for Your Kids?

Hmm...I pack two outfits per day, per child...plus 2-3 extras to take to the parks. I take two outfits for each to the park and an extra spare pair of undies for dd4. We're DVC members, so we have access to a washer and dryer (and we use them). Between potty accidents, spilled juice, melted ice cream, and just plain sweat and rain, we go throw outfits like potato chips! My advice would be to pack as much as you are able.....better safe than sorry.

ITA! :sad2:

If you're driving, then I'd pack as many extra outfits as I could fit.

If you're flying and have to worry about weight and luggage limits, I'd pack a little lighter and would make time to do laundry. Also keep in mind that you need some space in your suitcases for souveniers for your return trip home.

Each person should have a minimum of 2 pairs of shoes. That way, if someone gets a blister, he or she will have a back up pair to wear that doesn't rub on the blister. We wear Tevas and Crocs. I don't pack any socks at all.

I am a cronic overpacker, so your plan sounds good to me!!! :thumbsup2

I always take several outfits for my girls because you never know when an accident (regardless if it's food or something else) is going to happen. The way I look at it is, I'm on vacation, and I'm not going to stress out about them not having enough to wear. :sad2:

I'm sitting here laughing like crazy. I am the queen of overpackers. In fact we leave for the Philadelphia AIrport hotel on July 11th. If anyone within a 50 mile radius hears a scream around 3:00 it will be DH when he (once again) sees all our luggage and complains no family could possibly need that much stuff!

Of course there are five of us and we are staying for 16 days.

Kids are really where I overpack because in the July heat we go through two outfits a day, and that's not even counting the inevitable Mickey bar, juice, etc. spills that happen almost daily.

I have been taking inventory this week. They haven't been allowed to wear the new "Disney" clothes so its pretty easy. Also I used the ziploc bag method so each "outfit" is complete with socks, underwear and for the girls, the hair accessory.

My girls have:

10 shorts outfits
2 capri outfits
5 scooter skirt outfits
3 sundress outfits
2 "polo" style dress outfits

2 pairs of sneakers, 8 pairs of flip flops, 2 pairs of sandals
each outfit includes socks, underwear and hair accessory

4 pairs of pajamas
5 bathing suits
2 cover ups

My son has

12 short outfits (including socks and underwear)

4 pairs of pajamas
5 bathing suits

2 pairs of sneaks
3 pairs of flip flops

DH and I usually bring about 8 pairs of shorts, 10 tops, 15 pair of underwear, 2 or 3 pairs of pajamas, 2 bathing suits. I bring 2 pairs of capris and DH brings 2 pairs of Khakis. DH brings good shoes, a pair of flip flops and 2 pairs of sneakers. He also brings his "running" clothes. I bring 2 pair of sneakers and 6 pairs of flips flops, 2 pair of sandals.

THis does not include the three boxes I just shipped with costumes, tinkerbelle gifts, buckets and shovels, ponchos, kids wipes, and tons of anti bacterial wipes.

We have one bag filled with toiletries and I ordered $150 worth of food from garden grocer! So anyone who worries about overpack should just be glad they aren't as bad as us!
