Do you own the threads you start?

If you start a conversation IRL do you "own" it? Or do you allow it to take a natural progression? When you host round tables, you may come in and re-direct when things go on an obvious tangent, but other than that you are supposed to allow things to develop.

I own that dang PMS thread. The rest of you...OUT!!!

I think when you start a thread, you should be able to expect that it stays on topic.

However, I don't like to see people boo-hoo about it just because they don't LIKE what people have to say about the topic they started.
