Do you own a Combi Twin Savvy

I am currently on the hunt for a twin Maclaren but am will to consider a twin combi. I am looking to purchase a used one and don't really want to spend more than 150 I have however found a combi for 100. I have to say if it were a single I wouldn't even think twice about it b/c I would rather have a 20 umbrella stroller from toysrus than the combi don't get me wrong I like the style, lightweigt, and fold but my now 7 year old couldn't fit in it w/ the bar on the front by the time she was 4 and the main reason I didn't like it was b/c it seemed flimsy to me but I figure a twin would be that flimsy feeling. We are looking at taking family trip w/ my parents and my brothers family. They have two boys 3 & 5 and I plan on bring my Mac techno that I thought my dd7 and their ds5 could take turns in and that my dd4 and their dd3 could share. DD weighs 30lbs and dn weighs about the same. would this stroller work for us if I purchase it. My dd is 4 and has to be in the stroller the whole time she doesn't walk so if it doesn't work for her all the time she can ride in the mac (her stroller). How is the combi for naps.

I can't help with the stroller stuff, but yeah to you being 2 years Cancer Free!!! That is a wonderful milestone! What type of cancer did you beat (if you don't mind me asking?)

I just got my first NED (no evidence of disease) for esophageal 12/31. Small steps!

Anyhow, sorry OT...Congratulations to you!

IMO, the Twin Savvy is for smaller kids, not a preschooler sized child. I got one very, very cheap ($30) at a thrift store but my then 3.5yo DS was already too big for it, so it hasn't gotten much use at all.

Is there any way to try your DD in one before buying it?

I had a single Combi for my DD(now 9) when she was 2-4 years old. I hated the thing. It pushed okay for a bit when she was on the younger side, but as she got bigger (and she was small for her age) it was horrible. The handle is also so short and we kicked the wheels constantly that no one wanted to push the darn thing. Maybe a double would be better, but I just didnt feel like the brand was built too strong and sturdy either. We have since bought a Mac for her a few years back to use just for Disney trips and loved it. So much that we got a Quest for her new sister. The Macs are built to last and hold a TON of weight and push like the kid isnt even in the stroller!!!

I have the Combi stroller - I originally bought it when my oldest ds was 3 and dd was 6 months. Was fantastic for them easy to manuever and folds pretty compactly for a double stroller. I used this stroller for them up through our last Disney trip in September 2006 when ds was almost 5 and dd was 2. Now here is the one thing that made that last statement possible - my ds barely registers on the height and weight charts so he is a very very small 5 yo. Fast forward to yesterday, I decided to take the double stroller out again b/c we are heading to Disney on Saturday and our 4 month old has never been in a stroller without being in his carseat and I wanted to make sure he could sit in it ok. I put him in one side and had my 3 yo dd climb in the other side. She is way too big for it now. Her shoulders are too broad to sit in it comfortably. She can just barely lay back in the seat when the seat is reclined. Definitely not going to work for us this time around. So at the end of my babbling - if your kids run on the small side it would be ok - if they are average size (my daughter is 50% for weight and height) this stroller won't last past 2 yo.

I recently bought one to use for my DS3 and newborn. IMO, the previous posters who said it is good if your toddlers/preschoolers are on the small side are correct.Another downside to the stroller is that there are no cup holders or snack trays for kids or parents and the baskets are not the biggest either. My DS is big for his age, but he does fit in it well enough to make it through our Disney trip which was what I mainly wanted it for. For us, we went with the Combi because it was one of the only doubles I would find that would fit our infant seat on one side and folded up compactly enough to fit in our limited trunk space.It folds up really small for a double and has a carrying strap which is nice. Also, for a side by side, it is pretty narrow and I never have any issues at all with width of doors when I'm out. It will fit through one door pretty much anywhere.

Thanks so much to everyone that has replied so far I think that if I can't get the mac twin stroller for the price I want than I am just going to do the graco side by side. I have a graco front/back and well we all know the front seat is not good for naps and I think my dd4 will really enjoy have someone sit next to her during the trip. I really like the the fold down on the mac and combi but wasn't will to put out the money on it since I previously owned a single and didn't want that to happen again. I am a little intimidated by the fold on the graco b/c it doesn't close in but I don't think they will be comfy on the jeep stroller the graco has a better recline.
