Do you or your husband have a "cool" job?

DH and I both have cool jobs in the same company. I could tell you what they are, but then I'd have to erase your brains :teeth:

My husband is an electrician for our local utility- he builds substations and maintains them (ya know, those weird looking things behind tall fences with barbed wire on the top and the signs that say DANGER HIGH VOLTAGE) It's really very dangerous work and I think he should be paid more. ;)

I work in a large hospital registering people for their various appointments and procedures. I know WAY more about most people than I want to!

No cool jobs here. DH works in the lab at a local plant "testing" stuff. I am a coder/clinical data analyst at a hospital which means I read patient's charts after they've been discharged and "code" them for reimbursement.

I am a legal advocate for a domestic violence shelter. I have to say that it is the COOLEST of cool jobs. I meet some of the most interesting people, and get to go to some pretty fun trainings and functions. The best part is when someone will stop me in a restaurant or something and thank me for helping them. :goodvibes :goodvibes I'm poor, but I wouldn't trade my job for anything!!

Well, my hubby is a pilot. I think that's REALLY cool. He's in the Air Force with one year until retirement. We found out yesterday that he didn't get a job with Southwest Airlines :guilty: but we're holding out hope that one of the other companies will pick him up within the next year.

I wish I had a cool job....
Yup, Your DH definately has a cool job.

My DH is a chemestry professer, not so much cool, but gets to do some pretty cool expriements. :cool1: (blow things up and such.)

My job used to be pretty cool, if not really interesting. I used to be a clinical psychotherapist for an outpatient mental healthy clinic. I worked with Deaf and Hard of Hearing children, families and adults. I had the most interesting patients. I mean really really really interesting. :earseek:

As hard as it was, I loved it (and the people.)

Happy to be a SAHM for now. :cheer2: :cheer2:

Oh my older brother is working and testing an vacination for AIDS. How cool is that? (He has been running tests and trials for it for years, he is an Epidemiologst, sorry I can't even hope to spell that right, not even sure if he can!)

Most people think my job is cool- I'm a forensic DNA analyst. It's like any other job though (and not at ALL like CSI!), we still have bosses and deadlines and meetings and idiot coworkers. Plus we deal with the evidence from violent crimes and that can get to you after a while. The good part is I work in a nice clean lab, not out there with dead bodies. The bad part is I work in a nice clean lab with parts of dead bodies- not to mention their clothing, fingernails, hair, and other assorted nasty things- on a daily basis.

My DH has a pretty cool job. He is the crew cheif for an Unlimited Hydroplane race team. There are plenty of perks that come with his job, but he is also working/traveling six months out of the year.

I think that I have a very cool job. I teach theatre and direct plays, and also do some acting!

I work in a College costume shop. We make all the costumes that the students and professionals design. Right now we are making a cow and a frog. Not for the same show. My specialty is Painting/Dyeing fabricand crafts. Right now my thumb is fuschia from todays endeavors. I have also done a lot of wardrobe for theaters in Boston and a few movies too.

I think I have a pretty cool job (at least I enjoy it). I work as a consultant in the steel industry. Nothing like being the only woman in the room and wow-ing all the men with my vast knowledge of hot roll coils and rebar ;)

You GO GIRL!!!! LOL!!!

DH and I both work in the Emergency Room. He is an ER Doc and I am an RN. Fortunately we are now at 2 different ER's. I never did get used to taking orders from him. It is definately an interesting job. Sometimes exciting, sometimes very strange, sometimes just gross. It is almost always fulfilling though.

I'm a payroll accountant.....not too cool, huh? It's fun though nonetheless...

My BF is a musician (see my siggy?) which I think is totally cool!!!!!!!

DW is a high risk OB, which is really a cool job, IMO (though I rarely get to see her..). My day job is not so cool (Software Development Manager). By "other jobs" are much more interesting - playing and teaching music. In that life I play in 4 different symphonic groups and manage the rehearsals of 2 youth orchestras. Very rewarding and since my son's friends think I'm OK (DS is in both of those orchestras) then he thinks I'm pretty cool since it helps him with his friends rather than embarasses him.

wow, that's awesome. did you go to school for that specifically?

i'm going to be starting my job soon as a technician in a biochemistry lab that does work on proteins. at some point i'll get to work with x-ray crystallography. i worked over the summer at a paint company. i got to use a spray paint gun, which i thought was the coolest thing ever!

I don't know if DH has a "cool" job. It pays well, though :)

well, not cool in the way you are thinking, but he works in the freezer section for Ore Ida. :cool1: Free fries for everyone!

We live in upper Wisconsin - 10 months of the year ALL the jobs are cool - if not downright cold
