Do you opt out of (web based) cookies?

I was on a very large company's website this morning. I see the pop up about accepting cookies. Nine times out of 10, I will go to the "advanced options" and only allow "necessary cookies". So I do so on this one too. Usually I see about six options I can turn on/off. This one was a little different...

I did "Select All", and submitted. I just wondered if others just "Accept all cookies" on websites or go through the process of only accepting necessary cookies. Ooh, how about a poll?

I try to avoid accepting from most websites, but some don't seem to work correctly if you don't. Some of those options seem to reset the next time you reboot your computer, so it is more hassle then it is worth.

When shopping for something on-line, I will usually look at many different sites and some will probably never go back to in the future. I don't know if what you choose causes anything different to happen and have no idea if it really makes any difference or just makes you feel good that you are somehow limiting access.

This. If I can get past that screen without accepting or if they have an actual "decline" option, that's what I do. I'm also with you in that I don't know if it actually makes any difference.

^^ I agree. Even when I make a one-time purchase from a website for some home decor item, I always use the 'purchase as a guest' option so they can't send me endless junk emails I no interest in. Have also found a few websites that want you to provide your email address just to LOOK at the products they sell......no thanks. They lost my business since I see ZERO reason to do that either.

I generally accept all because I let my browser and plugins block anything third party. That will overr ride anything the site tries to do.

I’m the same way. My life is not exciting enough, or profitable enough, for anyone to steal.

We only accept necessary cookies and if the site won't allow us to do that we back out and go elsewhere.

I just accept them all. I delete them regularly after visiting the site. I have AdBlockPlus so I never see targeted ads anyway, and a throwaway email address that I use when I have to put in an email for something or other. I clear it out once a month. This way, my primary email stays nice and clean.
