Do you need to sign up for Hilton Head activities ahead of time?

Hi.

I told some of my family members about DVC's special promotion on their website to try out either Vero or Hilton Head and receive a special rate (you agree to look at the DVC timeshare info). Anyway, my sister booked the special rate to try out DVC by staying at Hilton Head.

I really hope they are wowed by their visit. (Can you tell I want more family members to join?) Is there a way to find out ahead of time what kind of activities there are for kids and do you think most of the activities would fill up early for the first part of May? Or how does Hilton Head's activities work - do you sign up when you get there?

Last year when we went in April we just signed up for the activities when we got there, there was no problem getting into things. In fact, I think except for activities that had a fee, you could not sign up more than a day in advance. You can call the resort the end of the week and have them fax to you the following week's activities. I think they have it ready on either Thursday or Friday.

You cannot sign up for activities at the resort before you check in; however, the activity list comes out on Thursday for the next week. We have the resort fax us the activity sheet before we leave and sign up for activities as soon as we arrive.

We're checking in tomorrow and I signed up yesterday for one of those dolphin cruises this upcoming Saturday.

I guess it depends on the CM you talk to.

I just called the resort's recreational desk (843)-341-4133 and was told 24 hour sign up for no fee programs and one week advance for programs that have a fee.
