Do you need to renew the annual pass with monthly payment plan?

Okay, our platinum passes are about to expire. We didn't do the monthly plan.
After reading this board, I found out that the pass at TX may be the cheapest, my kids have never been to TX, hence I do not mind to make it a trip to activate the pass. Obviously, I do not want to fly down every two years just to buy the passes. Hence my question

if we were to pay monthly and fly down to activate the passes, do we need to re-activate them every two years?

I've had the Platinum pass for like 8 years paying it monthly with the EZ Pay program, you don't need to do anything to renew the pass, they simply just keep charging you monthly after the 2 year contract expires. The real good thing about that is that as the prices go up you still keep paying the same every month as long as you don't stop paying it,at least that's what's happened to me as I'm paying 2002/2003 prices of $12 a month.I think today it's like $17+.The bad thing about that for me is that when they opened Aquatica they wanted me to "upgrade" my pass to include it,basically get a new 2 year contract at the current prices which were also close to $17 when Aquatica opened.I chose to keep paying my $12 and if I go to Aquatica just pay the entrance price. If I lived in Orlando,or at least closer I probably would have chosen to include Aquatica since I would go frequently.
