do you need to physically check in for DDP?

or is it activated to your magic band automatically if you check in online? If you wanted to hit the parks before going to the resort should your credits be there?

it depends on if you get a room text with your room number or if you still have to go to the front desk to finish up the activation part

I'm not sure what that means. If you check in however many days before you are not actually checked in until the room is ready?

I've always been told yes. I think what the previous poster was referring to is "IF" you get the text saying your room is ready here's the room #, you can go directly to your room and NOT stop by the front desk. Just because you do online check in, doesn't actually mean you are checked in. You may not be chosen to skip the front desk and go directly to your room. I would bet DDP folks rarely get to skip the front desk

Correct - you may not get to go directly to yoru room, you may still have to go to the front desk for room assignment

we are on the dining plan and were texted our room number and everything worked properly
