Do you need earplugs for Finding Nemo: The Musical?

I saw on one of the Travel Channel Disney shows about them making Finding Nemo: The Musical, at Animal Kingdom. It sounds like it's so loud! One of the Disney library books I have right now also says it's loud. How bad is it? (I think movie theatres are too loud) Do they think we're all deaf?

Its FAR quieter than "Rock Concert Loud" (like Tarzan Rocks used to be.)

If you or someone in your party is extra sensitive to sound, some cotton balls or ear plugs can be used, but I didn't find it particularly loud.
Certainly less loud than, say, Fantasmic!

BTW, I have been in some "too loud" movie theaters, but I've also been in some where we've had to tell the manager to send someone in to turn it UP.
The trailers are often much louder than the feature.

I'm sure someone will be along shortly to quip that you need earplugs in the Nemo Musical due of the quality of the show (you know who you are,) but everything is subject to "taste."

Just a joke.

I find that I like things with a few less decibels these days, myself.

;)

(And often, little kids are VERY sensitive to loud audio.)

More info-

If you want to get an idea of the kind of musical numbers they perform in the show, iTunes Music Store has the cast recording available for sampling and download.

Just go to iTunes and search for "Finding Nemo The Musical."

This was the highlight of our trip that day.. A wonderful wonderful musical.. was not to loud at all..:thumbsup2

Not just me. ;)

Even my 20-year old son thinks movies are "blasting" and said he thought the segment about Finding Nemo sounded like it was so loud. It looks pretty though.

BTW, how long is the show?

I am so glad to hear this. I like the music from Tarzan but I couldn't stand that Tarzan show...it wasn't just "I don't care for loud music" - it actually made my ears ache.

Hiya, not sure on the run length, I want to say like 35 minutes or something. I don't think it's loud at all. Not overly at least. It's a huge space, and I guess if you're over more to one side or another you'll be thinking it's loud because you're by speakers or something.

It's no louder than any other musical...needing earplugs has never entered my mind in the 3 times i've seen it now.

hope this helps :)

OK - I'm confused. The OP is a Cheap Trick fan and he/she thinks something is too loud?!

Seriously though - often, shows or movies are loud to cover the talking that usually goes on during the show or movie. But I might be immune to it. My in-laws are hard of hearing but won't admit it. So anytime we watch TV with them, the volume is blasting along at a 50 level (we normally watch it at a 25 level).

I really dislike things being too loud and I never thought about volume once at the show. So to me, it was just fine I guess!

I was right up front on the left aisle & it didn't seem too loud to me. Very pleasing to the ears actually & a must do on any AK trip. One of my favorite shows on property.

It needs to be loud so that you can stay awake.
It needs to be loud so that the dialogue and music are unintelliable so that you don't notice how lame and terrbile they are.
It needs to be loud so the sound matches the costumes and dancing.
It needs to be loud so that they can squelch the sreaming children.
It needs to be loud so that you can't hear the screams from EE.
It needs to be loud, so that, well, okay, I'm done.

My DW and I really had a hard time staying awake during it. Didn't capture us at all. We normally love all the disney shows, but this one left us flat, very disappointing.

IMHO, unless you have kids, a definite must miss.

It is about 40 too long minutes long. You could ride EE 2, 3 times during that period and have a lot more fun.

Okay, flame away.

I also didn't think it was too loud. I didn't notice the volume level, so it must have been ok. I did think it was too long. My 8 month old son LOVED the first of the show but lost interest after a while and eventually went to sleep. Also, if you haven't seen the movie, you will be lost. My dad had never seen it and mom had to explain everything because it is just scenes from the movie with big plot holes in between.

lol do you post this just to be flamed?

kidding. everyone has their opinion. I personally loved it. I even bought the soundtrack.

BRING EARPLUGS!!:rotfl:

My youngest daughter freaks out when the flush on the toliet is too loud:confused3

So I am packing a couple of pairs of earplugs...I am sure she'll be just fine with them. We had to wear them to the Hannah Montana concert and she did just fine.:wizard: Being a mom is sometimes more thought process than actual work...LMAO!!!:rolleyes1

I didn't find it too loud...but I'm old and deaf.
If you're concerned, bring earplugs. If you don't feel you need them, don't wear them.
I had heard mixed reviews on the show, so I wasn't sure I'd like it. I'm glad I got to finally see it...I loved it! Actually made me a little teary in spots...:sad1:

Still like FOTLK better...and that's loud!

My son is pretty sensitive to loud shows, but he was fine during Nemo. The Lion King got to him a bit though. He covered his ears through most of it.
