Do you need clips for children's Magic Bands?

I read somewhere on here that there was an issue with the Magic Band popping off of their child's wrist and recommended getting some sort of clip that you slide on to help secure it and keep it from coming undone. Has anyone else had this issue or know what clip they are talking about?

I had this problem myself. I’m no bigger than an average 8th grader and use the “child size” MBs. I lost 2 on my last trip! I finally got one of those Magic Keeper things and clipped it to my wallet. There are sliders that you can put on the bands. A regular rubber band would pribably do the trick though.

We use Bitbelts. It was a small price to pay to make sure our bands stay on. But you can also use small hair rubber bands that you can get at the Dollar Tree.

Our first trip I used the adult size Bitbelts on my daughter’s band. It slid up and down and didn’t really do the job it was supposed to. So I came home and ordered the Jr size for her bands. I order from the company on Amazon.

We use bitbelts too! They are cheap! And we haven't lost a band since. It's not just the kids bands. It's me and my husband. Lol as I carry a child or bags it will come undone but since we have used beltbits for several years now they stay on!

Personally, we have have a DD12, DD8 and DS3. We lost three MBs during the course of our APs 2016-2017, but Disney replaced them no problem.

I wish I had known about a product like that then! :coffee:

Thank you all so much for the help! :) I will get some of those bitbelts for sure!!

Never had Magic Band or sliders but just a thought in addition to the rubber band idea ... will a small zip tie (there are tiny thin ones) work to keep the Magic Band closed? Not sure about comfort level of zip tie though so you will need to test comfort level. Also, obviously, not as pretty as the sliders but if you're in a pinch and need something quick and cheap then maybe the tiny zip ties? :-)

we use Bit Belts also. No way you will lose a Magic band with those on. But, if Disney would just cut a slot in the band and make it like the Apple Watch band it would solve the problem. We just ordered the Apple Watch band clip to put our pucks in for our next trip. Disney-MagicBand-Puck-Keeper.jpg

Mine kept popping open.

So I used a hair elastic, like the bit band pictured above. Worked perfectly and was comfortable.

I'm assuming when they say child size they mean on magic bands there is a portion that you can tear away for smaller wrists..to make it smaller for a child.

You can tear off the outer grey portion to create a smaller band.

Ok good, lol. We are staying off site and ordered them but they don't ship to Canada so it took a hand-off of about 6 people between 3 states and 2 provinces to actually get to us. I'd be livid if they didn't fit :crazy2:

Where did you get the band clip? That is really cool.
