We'll be staying at WL and I'm sure my kids are going to want to try Whispering Canyon. I looked at the menus and there's really nothing they'll eat at lunch or dinner (they're chicken finger/plain pasta type kids) So, I thought if we ever pick a morning we don't want to be at rope drop somewhere we could try it for breakfast, but that makes it hard to predict a day. Is it the kind of place you can walk downstairs and eat or should I pan a late morning and get an ADR?

I def think you need an ADR. We were there in Oct and had Bkfst there 1 time and it was crowded. Our ADR was for 815am and there was a large line for walk ups already at that time.
On an up note we enjoyed the breakfast and our server was great. All the "action" keeps the kids occupied.
Enjoy:goodvibes

We made and ADR just to be safe. When we were there in early September, it was not crowded, but apparently it's subject to change.

Incidentally, the breakfast was yummy! It's now our "tradition" to eat breakfast there before we leave for the airport.

We are early birds and are often at WCC when it opens at 7:30AM, so no problem getting in. It does get more crowded later in the morning. The only time I make an ADR for breakfast is when we have more than 4 in our party. If you plan to eat after 8:30AM, I would make an ADR, at least at the front desk the night before.

We were there in June '07 and ate there the morning we left for home. We did not have an ADR, but had to wait 1 hour. Kids are usually ready to get to the theme parks, so you are on your schedule I would make an ADR. Also I feel breakfast is your best choice for meals at Whispering Canyon. However, one piece of advice NEVER ask for Ketchup. You will see why when someone else does.

I do keep hearing about the ketchup thing - I think I'll have to make my DH ask. :)

We're usually early birds when we're in Disney, but we have more family coming this time so I don't know how that will work yet. If they all actually got up early there would be 9 of us so I guess I better plan a day to make ADRs.

We were there for breakfast last November, the week after Thanksgiving, so generally a quiet time. We had an ADR for 9:15 (for two) and we waited about ten minutes for a table because the restaurant was packed.

We had a great breakfast and enjoyed all the action!
