Do You Need A Touring Plan For Seaworld?

For a September trip to Seaworld, is there any reason to have any type of touring plan? The only plan we have right now is to feed the dolphins first and then hit Manta and Kraken. Should we really worry about anything else, other than maybe show times?

Nope just grab a map at the entrance and plan what shows to see and then see other attractions in between shows.

It sounds like the new penguin ride gets busy rather quickly but I don't know what that might be like in September. I had wanted to do the dolphin feeding first but I don't want to wait hours in line for penguins so might hit that first. We are going 3rd week in August so hopefully that will have died down a bit.

I went to Sea World last September and it wasn't very busy. I saw 4 shows in one day and rode a few rides. I had a free ticket for a second day but didn't go back due to seeing everything in one day. It's a nice park but it needs more.

Did SW today for the first time with DS6 and DD11. Arrived at 8:30 as the parking lot opened up and stayed until 6 pm. We did everything except the penguins in Antarctica. The ride was closed for the whole day so we decided to wait until Saturday when we go back for a half day. Even with the ride portion down the wait was 50 minutes by afternoon. Everything else was 10-15 minutes (but we didnt do the 2 coasters) and this is busy time?! The shows did full up early. We arrived to the big ones 20-30 minutes early and stadiums were nearing half capacity. It is a really nice looking park with great shows. Thank goodness for the kiddie ride section, tho, because DS6 kept saying, "where are all the rides here?"

I would suggest getting a park map when you get there. Also look online before you go and write down the different show times and coordinate a plan of attack for the shows. With the timing of the shows you can sometimes go from one show right to the next show. In slow times getting to the theater/stadium 30 minutes early gets you first pick of seats but since it is summer time you might want to get there 40 minutes early if you can fit it all in the schedule.

This is a sample of the show schedules for a random day July 12th:

Park Hours: 7/12/2013
Welcome to SeaWorld Orlando

9:00AM - 10:00PM
Shows & Show Times

A'Lure, The Call of the Ocean"

1:30 PM, 3:30 PM, 5:00 PM

Blue Horizons®

10:00 AM, 11:30 AM, 1:30 PM, 3:00 PM, 4:30 PM

Clyde and Seamore Take Pirate Island

11:00 AM, 12:30 PM, 2:00 PM, 3:30 PM, 5:00 PM

One Ocean®

11:00 AM, 12:30 PM, 2:30 PM, 4:00 PM, 5:30 PM

Sea Lions Tonite

8:15 PM

Shamu Rocks®

9:00 PM

In this scenario this is what I would do...(but the shows were most important to us)

I would ride one of the roller coasters first thing then head over to Blue Horizons at 9:20 for the 10 show. show ends at 10:20 head over to Clyde and Seymore for the 11 show. Show ends 11:20. Go have lunch until 12. Head over to One Ocean for 12:30 show. Show ends at 1 pm. Head over to Pets Ahoy for the 1:45 show. Show ends a little before 2:15. Ride 2 more rides until 3. Head over to Alure for the 3:30 show. It ends at 4. Ride rides until the 2 evening shows. You would need to pick either Sea Lions tonight or Shamu rocks because you really won't have time to see one then get to the other in enough time unless the park is really thinned out and not crowded that late. That gives you 20 min for rides in the morning. 45 minutes for lunch. and 4 hours in the evening for rides. All in between shows.

That's what I would do. I would plan for every show and fit rides in there as time permitted.

Just remember going in sept two of these shows will not be available during sept. These are summer nights schedule and that ends in august. And the park might close a lot earlier too.

If Antarctica is open and you want to see that, I would go there first. We were there 2 Saturdays ago and at 9:15 the wait was already 90 minutes. We should have gone there first but stopped to do Manta on the way. Big mistake as the wait for Antarctica only grew worse, 120 minutes at one point. Other than that 1 attraction we were able to do everything else we were interested in with little wait time.
