Do you need a parking pass to park at other resorts?

We are possibly thinking of eating lunch at Beaches and Cream upon our arrival. We will be arriving before check in...are we allowed to park at Boardwalk or any other resort without a parking permit (or will we have to pay)? Will the hotel let us check in (without going into our not yet ready room) and give us a parking permit?

If you want to visit another resort you just have to let the parking attendant know why you are there and they will give you a guest parking pass to put in your windshield. Sometimes they will direct you to a specific parking lot and sometimes they will only give you a parking pass for 3 hours. It depends on where and when you are visiting the resort. On our last trip we had dinner at the Contemporary, the Poly, Wilderness Lodge and 2x at Boardwalk. Only at the Poly were we given the pass with a 3hr limit. The rest just gave us a regular parking pass.

Resort parking is free and the 3 hour rule may apply whether or not you are staying on site.

You can check in and get your parking pass, park tickets if part of a package, etc. as early as around 7 AM even if your room is not ready.

You will have to go back to your car and slip your room/package parking pass behind the windshield if you want to leave the car there (at your resort) all day.

When you go up to the guard at the Beach club, just tell him that you want to go to Beaches and Cream. They will tell you where to park and to have a nice time. No worries.
