I recently bought the Wii system for Xmas. Now I'm thinking I may not be done. LOL!

I bought the console, extra nunchuck, wii play...which has a couple games and an extra regular remote. I also bought a couple games.

But...do I also need a charger thing for the remotes? Very confused and would appreciate any suggestions.

Thanks so much!

Heather

Hi Heather! You don't NEED a charger. You can use regular old AA batteries inside the remotes (or rechargables if you're so inclined). Just have a couple extras on hand.

The charger is convenient IF you're good about putting the remotes back onto it when you're not playing. Maybe keep it in mind for a birthday gift down the road?

not sure if you got the "non-slip" controller jackets in new system (meant to avoid "oopsies, as in controller flying thru TV screen).

bought ours last season for Xmas, sent away for them - link on Nintendo site...came in less than a week.

I got the Wii for my kids last Christmas. I thought I had everything. It sounds like you did better than I! I bought an extra remote but not the extra nunchuck to go with it. Kids still played a lot , but they needed the nunchuck for the spare remote for some games. It took me a couple months to get my hands on one.
I still have not purchased the docking station. My kids play on weekends only and we change the batteries every one or two months. The charging dock would be nice, but you are OK without it.

Those Wii controllers EAT batteries! My kids have taken over my rechargable batteries, so I'm planning to get them the Wii charger for Christmas. I may also get them their own AA battery charger for when they have large groups over to play and no time to recharge the controllers themselves.

Does anyone have a good charger (for the remotes) they can recommend? There seem to be about 4-5 different brands of chargers out there, none of which I've ever heard of. When I go online & read the reviews of them they have poor ratings, everyone says they're junk. I'd like to get one, but I want a quality one! I guess to start I can always just use AA rechargeable batteries. I have one battery charger (holds 4 AA batteries) - can I just buy more rechargeable batteries - that would be cheaper than getting the whole set of the batteries plus the battery charger?

Wow I went back & read that - coffee rambling! How many times can you say CHARGER in one sentence???
