Do you generalize when discussing "good touch" and "bad touch"? Like stating "If anyone touches you etc.." or do you get into specifics like "Even if Uncle So-and-So" etc. I've talked with DD-8 about people and her body and private parts. A co-worker was stating that when she discusses it with her DD's, she also includes "daddy" as in "Even if daddy does so-and-so". I don't want to start a "trust" or paranoia debate, but her statement made me think ,since most cases of sexual abuse occur within the family. Making the talks so generalized may exclude the most likely people, and if the child doesn't see these people as part of the rule, it might lead to continuous abuse before actually being discovered. Any thoughts?
