"Do You Mind?" - Disney Adventures with Teens August Trip Report

I found the older album.

Here is Katie in her first Disney PJs:

Jen, please note that she did not attempt to wear these in public and pretend they were real clothing :)

And here's the best one:
Katieminniebabypic0001.jpg

Katie was 6 lbs 0 oz and that Mickey was as big as she was! This had to be only days after we got home from the hospital.

Awww Katie is such a doll.

I'm glad she didn't make a fashion faux pas and wear pjs out in public :lmao:

I love the pic of Katie and Mickey. She was such a tiny little thing!

Well, what you see is just the "shell". I still have to do things like creating the itinerary and such. The only thing you did that I probably won't is the list of "skip attractions". I figure I don't want to list them if I don't care to see/do them. Just being on my list may make me turn them into "must dos" :lmao:

(Still catching up...) Well, since you've been before, and also didn't have little kids, you probably don't need the Skip list. That was mainly for stuff that is deceptively scary, to remind me that if we walked by it and someone suggested to do it, that I should tell them they wouldn't want to do it! It was mainly stuff like Snow White, Stitch (ok, more 'cuz I heard it sucked), and Tough to be a Bug. More an Avoid list than a Skip list. (Yay for research! I think I mentioned somewhere that my SIL didn't prep well enough for her trip, and since her dd loves Snow White, that was the 1st thing they did. It took about 10 rides on Small World to calm her down...)

Aww Katie is too cute! She is so small in those baby pics. I sometimes forget how tiny newborns are. :goodvibes

Ok, all caught up now! Gotta love the old pics! Katie was a teeny tiny baby! Tho, it's been a while since I've seen a newborn - I held a couple of different 6 - 8 week old babies recently, and they were a lot bigger!

I love the old pictures of Disney. I've been inspired to scan our old Pics and add them to my Digital frame. I won't tell the kids and see if they notice.:lmao:

Thanks for the idea.

I wish I had an owner's locker. I wish I had a DVC :)

:goodvibes

IYeah, I was trying to think of where I could find rain ponchos. So I decided to stroll through the sporting goods, which led me to camping. They also have some cool pen-type hand sanitizer and bug gel stuff, but I didn't get any because I already have hand sanitizer from the cruise last year, and I have my favorite bug spray. (will we need bug spray in Orlando?)

During my recent trips in October and May, I haven't noticed a need for bug spray on WDW property. It really surprised me because I would have thought that with all of that water, there would be tons of mosiquitos.

Those pictures of Katie are awesome!

24 Days!!!

That's only 3 weeks and 3 days. In fact, we're starting our travels at 6am on the 8th, so it's really only 23 days for us! Yippee!!!

I saw this on another thread and I can't wait to see it!

We have never been to BC before. It gives me butterflies just seeing the picture. It's so close!!

Wanna know something sad? I have never even seen the BC. Never made it over there to eat or just look around. So I can't wait to see all the photos.

Thanks for the compliments. I sometimes wish she were still that young. She has always been quite small. We went to the doc today and she is 5'1" and 89 lbs.

I totally see how a "skip" list can work for your trip. So sorry to hear about the Snow White experience. Wow!

I know and she was a very tiny one. Her twin cousins were 4 lbs 12 oz and 5 lbs 2 oz. Premature, only a pound less than she was. I was so small, she was destined to be tiny. They are so cuddly though!

Yep - she was so so tiny. But I was counting my blessings, if ya know what I mean! ;)

Yep - you need to scan them. Let us know if the kids notice.

Good, hopefully we won't need bug spray. I'll pack some just in case. Thanks for the compliments on Katie. Like I said, I'm a little biased.

I can't wait to see your pictures from the Beach Club!!! :goodvibes
Ha! Me either!! I will be sure to share.

Awww - You can live vicariously through us!

Here are more pictures from our trips. I will start with our WDW trip in 1997. I can't find the MGM pics. I know we had one of all of us in front of ToT. I swiped these from my scrapbook and the pages are all warped, so please forgive me.

Katie and Mickey. She was 5 years old.

Mommy and Dude with Mickey. I think this might have been Toontown Fair or whatever it is called. It was something different back in 1997.

Maybe this was China? The hair wrap was from out by the pool at the ASMu resort.

I'm guessing Mexico?

Great pics!! Katie looks like she had a great time.

I think the water pic is in MK, Donald's Boat in Mickey's Toontown. Could that be?

I think she did. In some of those pics, she doesn't look to be having such a great time. I think it was a 5 day/4 night trip. This year's will be the longest. I think you're right about the water pic. And look at that face! She is MAD at that water and insisting that it NOT COME UP! I think it was called something other than Toontown - can you remember? I think it was political like Mickey for President or something. See the buttons and ribbons in the background on the Mommy and Dude pic?

It's so much fun to see old pics!

What a cutie your daughter is!
I am having such a great time going through old photos - not just Disney - all of them. A little walk down memory lane is good for the soul and makes you remember what we're here for.

Thanks! I love the old pics of her. I am a little weepy that she is almost grown up.

I was there in July 1997. What month was your trip?

It was called something else, but I can't remember the name. Someone on the DIS must remember the name.

Remember when Test Track was completely different and there was an attraction called Horizons in Epcot?

My notes say September 20, 1998. This was the year AK opened. I was there for a conference and Mom, Katie and Chris came in for the weekend so we could try out AK. It rained. Not much was open. We stayed at CBR and that was nice.

Oh, did you notice in the 1997 pics that Katie had her autograph book in the character pics? Also the Grandma-Bonnie-inspired fanny pack. What 5 year old wears a fanny pack???

Too bad Mom's not around to defend herself. She's too busy off buying condos and such... (I'm not kidding - we should update y'all)

Such cute pics of Katie!

In 1997 Katie was five and Chelsea was being born.

Now they are 16 and 11!

Where did the last 11 years go???

You hit the nail on the head. It was July 1997. We always take our Disney trips together, don't we?! I don't know for sure the dates though.

I will look in my 1998 UG to find out what it was called.

Yes, Test Track was World of Motion and Horizons was where Mission:Space is now and Wonders of Life was still running. My, how things change.

I am trying to post replies on your PTR but I can't keep up. And I'm trying to keep up here on my own PTR too!!

Believe me, time absolutely flies. It's crazy. Best advice I can give is: enjoy every moment. Soon you will be doing what I did today (hint: obgyn with a 16 year old)
