You've been very busy today!!! What fun!!!

Anyway, so apparently I have rubbed off on DH. Last night we were at dinner, and he suddenly said "look! A little Mickey on my plate!". I wish I had had a camera. The chef had drizzled some of the sauce accompanying the fish on DH's plate. Three drops had formed a tiny little Mickey.
Yay! Another one converted!!![]()
How many days in advance are you shipping the box?
Found the Tide packets at Wal Mart - got the last 6 ones. They were in the "travel sizes" bins.Wow, I love those Tide packets! I don't think that I have ever seen them before.
Did the ponchos come from Walmart also?
I have! And it was fun! You've been very busy today!!! What fun!!!![]()
I put some items in ziplock bags in the box I have already started. These are the aerosol cans like sunscreen, shave cream, etc. that might explode in transit. That way they won't leak on other stuff in the box, or make the box wet and soggy.Ohhhh I love your travel size laundry supplies. And your ziploc bags, ponchos, and other necessities! It's so much fun to buy things for the trip.
I never thought about shipping anything ahead. It's such a great idea! Then you don't have to schlep everything on the plane with you. Genius!

Wow!I've finally caught up and read all of your pre-TR to date. WOW, I love your planning binder I will definitely be doing that for my WDW in 2010 (You're lucky you're going this year!). I want more!
Thanks! I am trying to get organized but feel like I am so far behind.Oh wow you are so organized and shipping ahead is smart these days, especially with the baggage charges.
That is sooooo cool. Tell me you're not "creating" these hidden mickeys!Actually, I'm also pleasantly surprised when my DD3 finds hidden Mickeys all over our house or outside...it's fun and she's definitely a convert!
I am not sure how much it will cost, but it seems to be less stressful than filling out an order at Garden Grocer or Cosco and not knowing for sure if I will get everything I want. We're not planning to rent a car, so the Wal-Mart trip won't be an option for us. Unfortunately.I've wondered about the shipping ahead, too...time to get there and how much it would cost...
We've been renting a car for our trips so just end up going to Wal-Mart for food and toiletries; but as PP said, with the restrictions on airlines, it might actually pay to ship things down instead/addition to...

I am planning to ship items that are consumable. Things that we will use while we're there, but not likely to bring back with us. The purpose is two-fold. 1) to minimize the weight of our suitcases since we are flying and our airline might charge for overweight items. 2) to conserve space in the suitcases.
Since I am shipping some items, I decided to add Charmin. I am not sure what kind of TP the BC will have, but I don't want our booties to get sore.I would never "waste" (no pun intended) luggage space with toilet paper under ordinary circumstances.
I'm also planning to add snacks like my Apex cookies from the gym and Chris's south beach snack bars.
I haven't heard from others who have shipped ahead as far as when to ship. I am thinking that I will ship the box Monday the 28th. That means it will arrive about a week prior. I will ship UPS ground, track-able so I know when it arrives and I won't be stressing over not having my Charmin.Let me know if you have any other ideas on this. I would love to hear them.

The ponchos are also from Wal Mart. They were 86c a piece in the camping section. I got one for each of us. Thought about getting 2 or more, but I figure they'll dry.
I do love my REEFs. Boys also love them for the same reason that they love Hooters restaurants. And I don't mean the wings. (Have you ever seen REEF posters, advertisements, etc? The original company name was "REEF Brazil", after all. You can tell the boys in your life to check out the Miss Reef pages on their website.)Just checked out your flip flop post! Wow!!!
I have a pair of Reefs and I love them. Flip flops are definitely a part of my daily "uniform", so I appreciate a good pair.
Your Disney history pics are awesome!
Yeah, I want to see them! We hated matching. Mom made us do it.I love the pics!!!!
And the matching overalls are so cute!!!
I need to scan some pics from my first trip in 1987![]()
I didn't even notice that! I can't decide whether I think that's creepy or not. He also looks like a VERY small human being.Great pics from the early days of Walt Disney World!!! Mickey has human hands in that picture!![]()
I checked the UPS price today. It's just over 11.00 and if I ship it Monday, it will be there Thursday, 2 days before we get there. I posted over on the BC board and someone gave me instructions of how to label the box so they will hold it for us.I think it's so smart not to waste luggage space with those items. We bring lots of things in travel sizes so we won't have to carry them back. And shipping UPS ground is great. I would need to track the box also. Will the BC hold the box until you arrive? How does that work?
I wanna see!!I love the vintage WDW photos. They are so sweet. I just might have to dig up mine and scan them in.

I wish I had an owner's locker. I wish I had a DVCHmm, I will have to remember the Tide packets for my next long non-Disney vacation (for Disney I have a bottle of Tide in my owner's locker).
I never thought to look in the camping section.I am going to have to check it out next weekend and buy a bunch for my up-coming trips.
The vintage pictures are great!
I am planning to order water and soft drinks from Costco or Garden Grocer. I wonder how soon I should order those? We talked about it, and we think we need 3 cases. That price seems quite reasonable. Thanks for the info.Great vintage pics. Susan, thanks for sharing! I love your ship ahead box.I wanted to let you know that we ordered 2 cases of water from Costco for our trip and it worked out GREAT!!! We are not members but I ordered off of there website 6 days prior to our arrival and it was waiting for us when we arrived! It was $15.90 total. I thought that was great. I just put in the address line Diane **** c/o Animal Kingdom Lodge then the resorts address and then in the 2nd address line, I put for check in on 4/20. It worked really well!

Oh, and I also found out that those athletic-looking ones have these little slide-out compartments in the heels. They are velcro-ed in place, and are just big enough to hold a KTTW!!
Thanks so much. I'm a little partial.Awww Katie is so precious!!!
I love the gangsta reference![]()
Aww thanks. She has gorgeous blue eyes. It's the best thing she got from her dad.Look at those big eyes of Katie's! Too precious!
I see more REEFs in your future too! That is SO cool! I see some more Reefs in my future!
