"Do You Mind?" - Disney Adventures with Teens August Trip Report

Wanna come be my principal? I bet you had a very loyal staff! :goodvibes[/QUOTE]

If I were younger, I would accept the invitation. However, it's time for me to have some "ME TIME". But I do still do some staff development training for teachers and administrators. So if you can get your School System to "hire" me for a day, I'll come and show y'all how to have fun in a "burn out" job.''

I DID have loyal staffs at each of my schools after the first year. We played hard and worked harder. There were always some who didn't want to work to my expectations and standards, so they left after the first year. Fine with me because it let me provide the optimum education for the students that way.

Funny, my staff who don't work out don't make it past 1 month, much less 1 year. I'm a slave driver! :rotfl:

We have 'Ohana on...let's see....Thursday, the 14th at 7pm

But I think we could make it to 'Ohana almost any day/evening. Most of our dinner reservations are at 7pm. Some might be canceled. The only two that are different are CG the 11th at 7:40pm and Brown Derby/Fantasmic the 12th at 4:30 (ridiculous, huh?), oh and Raglan Rd at 8pm on the 13th after LaNouba. Anyway, we can pretty much do Tambu daily!

Great!!! I'm staying at the Poly, so I'll probably head over to Tambu often :lmao: We have dinner reservations anywhere from 5:30-6:30. We couldn't have a late dinner with T.

Our Brown Derby/Fantasmic reservations are at 5:20, which isn't so bad. The CM said she couldn't do later. I don't quite understand why the Fantasmic package has to be so early.

and nobody would be able to find me b/c I don't plan to wear my LGMH (sorry) :(
Well, if you do decide...you can print this out and wear this....
SwwakeLGMHPC.jpg

I actually don't have any LGMH. And if I wore them, my family would have me committed.
I made you one too. I don't own photoshop, and can't make you a really cool lapulapu head canteen like Swwake....(how did you do that?!), but I did make you this...

Thanks Beana!!!

6th grade teacher here. Just finished the testing this week. I did know about the peppermint and we did that. I did give them "special" pencils but didn't tell them that they had all the answers. I will save that for next year. There is always next year.:headache:

Bonnie, we just received the bill for DH's bonding and crown. Not pretty. :scared1:

Did you see the Samantha Brown special on the travel channel last night about her favorite disney spots? I liked the show because she did some from WDW and some from DL. I've never been to DL. It was nice. She gave some tips, but of course, those of us who already live the disney life already knew them. :worship:

There are 3 more specials. One each Fri. for the next 3 weeks.

Anyway have a good weekend.

Susan, can't wait until tax season is over for you.
My dental bill has been reconciled. Took long enough!!

:rolleyes1 :dance3: Sing Hallelujah! Let's all be happy.    Today is the official end of Tax Season. Now Susan will be able to get back to normal. Whatever that means:confused3 ! At least the stress in her life will not be work related.:surfweb:

Thanks for the "heads up" on Samantha Brown. I'll try to Tivo it this Friday.

Katie shopped yesterday and found her dress for Saturday night. It's really pretty. I find this interesting because the palest of pinks was the color my bridesmaids wore in my wedding to Katie's dad. Deja Vu?

I can't believe how similar Katie's dress is to your bridesmaids' dresses in the back.

You don't have a teacher's union???

And yay to the end of tax season

No unions in Georgia at all -- we are a Right-to-Work state -- we have GAE (the state's NAE chapter), but it doesn't have the same kind of muscle that other states' teachers' unions have.

Susan, do you get to come play again on the DIS?

Susan we miss our cocktail parties!!!

Ok, I have read enough and just sat back quietly as you guys chitter chatter about all the dis fun you are anticipating. So, I feel a bit left out and maybe, just maybe, i can live vicariously through you. I can fantasize. Can't I? Isn't that what Disney is all about anyway?

The sis....

Jo

Susan,
I hope your tax day was wonderful!!!

As wonderful as it can be, huh?

I know you will be busy preparing and planning for this weekend. Two big hooplas!! I am jealous of the casino night. Wish I could be there to join in the fun. And .. I am sure that Haley would love to partake in the Katie festivities too. But, what she doesn't know.... well, it won't hurt her.

Tell Katie Happy 16th!!!! We actually got her a card about a week ago, but it was one of those with the music chip in it and the kids have been having so much fun with it that they ..... well... they have lost it. Now i have to go get another one. Haley has a pretty pink lacross ball for Katie... but it's here.... not in the mail... so it will be late for her too.

Ohh well, we tried.

Love you both and can't wait to hear how the weekend extravaganza goes.

Jo

I hope so. This is still a very busy week, but I am trying to take pictures to keep up with it all. I will share with y'all as I get a few minutes. If not soon, expect some serious posting on Sunday.

I know. I'll be back. Have a Lapu Lapu on me!

Welcome Jo!! I am glad you are joining us. I wish you could go with us too. Maybe if you read and post enough, you'll decide to go with us. We still have almost 4 months to twist your arm.

Yeah, really. The best part about it is that it's over now.

You won't show Haley the pictures?

I will pass the message on. Thanks for the thoughts.

Tonight we have done some birthday preparations. I got the gifts wrapped. We asked Katie if she wants to open her gifts early tomorrow morning before she goes to school, or wait until after we get home from dance around 8:30pm. She waffles a little, but she has decided on opening them in the evening.

Here are the gifts:
Birthdaygifts003.jpg

That's the card from DH, Magic, Harry and me. Chris wanted to figure out a way to have the dogs "sign" it, but I wasn't going for the we-can-paint-mustard-on-their-paws-and-let-them-lick-it-off-after-stamping thing. Sounds like it would mess up the beautiful card. I will try to take pics of the card tomorrow.

I love the tag on the bag. I found a package of 4 of those at Target. The others have different sayings on them. Note the black ribbon sticking out of the top of the bag. I will explain that tomorrow.

The box on the right is actually Katie's gift from her father. Due to some logistical issues, I had to purchase it and wrap it and he will reimburse me.

Birthdaygifts004.jpg

This is a mystery gift from Dude's parents, Tom and Becky. Katie is their only granddaughter. None of us know what's in the mystery box. Unfortunately, I wasn't too good with the camera and you can't even see the box. It's about the same size as the pink box above; however, I am 99.999999% sure they are not the same present.

Birthdaygifts002.jpg

This was a last-minute gift from Dude. He knows that Katie loves her blueberry muffins. Dude stopped at the grocery store on the way home tonight to pick up some sushi and thought about Katie and got her the muffins as a special treat. Isn't he the best?!

I would say his biggest gift to Katie is the time he has spent on her car. He spent many hours on last week's weeknights working on the car, then took off half a day Friday and all day Monday, and spent the entire weekend working on the car. It has new brakes front and back, new struts, new spark plugs, has been washed, waxed, a dent removed from the passenger door, all the window stickers removed, and I am sure many other things that are invisible and incomprehensible to people like me who are automotive-maintenance-ly challenged.

Tomorrow night:
- What did I get Katie that she has asked for daily for the past two months? (I bought it in January)
- What gift have I had for Katie since she was born and have planned to give to her on her sixteenth birthday since she was about three years old?
- What's the deal with the black ribbon?
- What did Katie's dad get her and why was it logistically difficult?
- How will the licensing go tomorrow?
- How will Katie's first alone driving experience go tomorrow afternoon?

Tune in to find out...
