Can't wait for Lapu Lapu Fest '08 in August

Ok, that calls for a logo. We have to come up with something. Pretty soon, everyone will be doin' it!!
Car repairs are never fun for me
But then again, I don't know how to do it.
You're lucky to have a husband that can fix things. I only know people who break things.
I am SO lucky. And so lucky that he likes to do it. Only know people who break things - I think I read something about that - or maybe it was drunk dialing? I hope nothing got broken with that.
Isn't Chris a "Winner" ??? What a Step-father!!! Yes, Susan, you did kiss a lot of frogs, but look at the Prince you captured as a result!!!
sheesh - ribbit.

Speaking of frogs, remember where that POS car CAME from! I have lost my husband for a weekend, thanks to a frog.
Can't beat the Ritz in New Orleans -- not that I have ever stayed there -- I just imagine it can't be beat!
Katie's dress is soooo beautiful! I just adore it!!!! Thanks for posting those pics!
I have stayed there. The service borders on ridiculous. Last year, I was walking down the hallway corridor on the way to my room. I was talking to my colleague and said "I think I'll go buy a bottled water and then go to bed." One of the staff overheard me and said "Ma'am, I'll get you that water. What's your room number? Is there anything else you need?" I was floored! Love the Ritz!
Thanks for the compliments on the dress. I had nothing to do with it. Katie did text me a pic of it before she bought it, but I didn't pay it much attention. I just asked her the price. She put it on her debit card. I guess now I have to transfer funds.
Pretty dress! The party sounds fantastic.
Thanks so much, I'll tell Katie you said that. She gets so mad at me for posting her "whole life" on the DIS. She just doesn't get it. The party will be fantastic, if she can get over this current tiff with her DBF. That's another story. Teen romance...ahhhh
Susan, katie is lucky, I wish I had parents like you when I was young. My parents were great but you just seem so fun!

I love the invitations and dress, It is going to be a great party!

I Hope you can post an update before I leave next Sunday afternoon!

I cannot believe how busy you are
Thanks so much. She is our only one, and the only one we were able to have, so we like to spoil her. But we try not to let her BE spoiled. If that makes any sense. Thanks for the compliments. I will do my best to post an update, but not sure what time you're leaving. Maybe I'll upload pics while I'm chaperoning Sat night. It is ridiculous how busy I am, isn't it? I keep thinking something's gotta give.
Wow!
That dress is such a beauty!!!
And to say we don't even celebrate sweet 16s here... well not in that way, not much more than any other birthdays really...
You really seem like such a fun, loving and wonderful family!
Thanks for the compliments. We are fortunate to have such a close family and such fun. Just today, Katie decided not to buy a crown because she said she doesn't want to be like "My Super Sweet 16". I am keeping it relatively low-key. It's a bigger birthday than any other has been, but still not impossibly expensive or extravagant.
Reading about past parties in Grandma Bonnie's post was really incredible! I couldn't belive my eyes!

My, what fun people must have when you have something to celebrate! They must wait anxiously, hoping to get invited!
We make up reasons to celebrate, in this family, and at my work. Maybe I am the one who influences that.
As for your over-the-top schedule for the next months... I
so can relate to that... before I got ill, that's about what my schedules would look like. Well, not necessarily filled with travel and parties... (hum... absolutely
not filled with those things!

), but reaching full capacity and nearing explosion!
Don't you love that feeling though? Makes you feel you live a really full life and when you realize you got through it all, tells you you really
can do a lot!
I'm glad I stay busy. It will tire me out at some point, but I always have something to look forward to in the coming few weeks. And luckily, I like to travel, and my current business travel schedule is much lighter than my previous job (believe it or not), so my family appreciates it also.
I hope you still can find some joy from all those work-related trips, because you are truly lucky to have the opportunity to travel so much, even if it's not for long trips or exotic destinations!
And on top of those work-related trips, you will travel some more!
I always find time for fun in the work-related trips. I really have a good time with that part of my job. The networking cultivates relationships and brings in business, and we always have something in common. I love it!
I'd think of it as little stepping stones leading to the big thing in August! Little pleasure bubbles to be had to make you wait for the real important one!
That is a GREAT way to think about it! Thanks!
And altough I really understand the fear of not being able to plan it all as you'd like to, I'm pretty sure you'll be able to plan more than you think. Some bits here and there, between a meeting and a conference, or in a plane... Plus the experience you have and those books you read will help a lot!
You're right. I will surely find the time to plan this trip, since it's my current all-encompassing hobby!
And think about it this way : part of what you need for the Disney trip will already be packed, since you'll have been doing so many trips along the way!
You're right on that one too. I keep two separate sets of toiletries. One set is all under 3 ounces and fits conveniently into a single pint-sized ziplock bag. But I haven't been able to find contact solution in smaller than 4 oz sizes, so let me know if any of you out there can find some!
Love the invite and Katie's dress! It's a great pink.
Only a few more days until the end of tax season!
Thanks so much for the compliments. I can't wait for the end of tax season, but as you can see, I'll still stay busy.
