"Do You Mind?" - Disney Adventures with Teens August Trip Report

3 days? That's right! You're going to Memphis on Friday. I cannot believe by the weekend, we'll be in Disney. It's almost here :yay:

Hi Susan! And Grandma Bonnie!

I've not been here for too long, as you know, but I just realized you're almost there!!! I'm really sorry I missed all the details of your last months of planning, and I hope all is well and you got to plan as you wanted even with your (Susan) crazy schedule and all those little work-related (or not? I don't remember if they were all...) trips.

It's more appropriate to wish you well here than on my own TR (if we can call it that... it will be a proper TR some day, maybe it will start to be in about a month, if my health collaborates).

So... I wish you the most magical, pixie dust-filled trip! :wizard: I really hope Katie has a wonderful time and makes Caitlin discover all the beauty, fun and magic there is in Disney! And I hope, even as teenagers, they don't care about how they look or are looked at and all this teenage nonsense (not that they came out this way in the PTR), and are able to fall back into gaga-land... aka childhood.

Bon voyage!

Ooh - getting so close!!! Too bad you didn't get to do much Napa stuff when you were there - I love that place! (Great scenery *and* great wine...)

And, wow, is that a lot of stuff you shipped! Not sure if I'll ever do that one or not.

Congrats to Bonnie on your new house! Sounds like the closing went smoothly - yay!

Congrats to Chris. I hope his new ventures go well!

(I *think* that's it...)

Also, Chris put in his notice at work today. He is going to start two of his own businesses. We are both very excited about this. Best of all, it will have him in a great mood on our vacation!

Wow, that is a huge change! Here is some pixiedust for him. pixiedust:

Thanks for missing me. I've been very very busy for the past couple of weeks:laundy: and will be back writing in a day or two.:surfweb:

Who in their right mind procrastinates on packing for Disneyworld???? That would be me. Weird.

It can really be overwhelming, can't it?

My mom always says to just worry about the major things like plane tickets, credit cards, and prescriptions -- she says the rest of things, if you forget them, can be bought.

Congrats to Chris!!!
I will pass that on. He is excited and a little anxious. Who wouldn't be?

We're excited too. But today went by very very slowly. I think I'm just anxious.
Really? My days are flying. Not enough time. I hope they slow down by Friday or Saturday.

sounds busy over there.

tan? :confused3 your going to Florida, you can tan there. :rotfl2:
Very busy. I try to get a base tan so I won't burn. Also, of course, fat looks better tan. :lmao:

my goodness that is some list.

hampers???

I throw my clothes on the floor under the rack so they r out of the way.
I read somewhere about the pop-up hampers. I think they were about $4 each. I have this wild dream that we might get some laundry done while we're there. I know - impossible without Jordan.

:welcome: Thanks for reading! Maybe we will run into y'all!

Welcome home from Napa! You are going to be busy, busy, busy the next few days!!!
Thanks for the welcome home. I am still jet-lagged. I am so busy.

I just joined in this morning. I am so excited for you! I cannot wait to read your TR.

It is so close
Hey there and :welcome: I hope I have the energy for a TR.

I can't wait to finally slow down. Or stop.

Maybe the next time I can do some winery stuff. We did get a private event/wine tour one night at Domaine Carneros Winery.

It is a big change. But a good one. We're excited.

It can really be overwhelming, can't it?

My mom always says to just worry about the major things like plane tickets, credit cards, and prescriptions -- she says the rest of things, if you forget them, can be bought.
Yeah, Mom says the same. I think we're fine. I am just finding lots of other things to do rather than pack and pay bills. I think I'm just worn out.

I know the feeling, but just hold on to the thought that you are sooo close to being on the road and going to WDW!

I don't think I have ever posted our tentative schedule, or have I?

Well, we don't plan to follow a strict schedule. We may not visit any certain park on any certain day, but I have mapped out all the "green" mornings. My thought is that if we get up and want to go to a park, first choice will be the green one. We won't follow touring plans - just general guidelines for avoiding long waits and using Fastpass to our advantage.

So here's our schedule. It will be interesting to see whether we stick to it.

Saturday:
Arrive airport late afternoon
Check into hotel room
Explore BC/YC/BW
Dinner bluezoo

Sunday:
Animal Kingdom
Disney Quest
Dinner Jiko

Monday:
Magic Kingdom/KTTK Tour (adults only)
Blizzard Beach
Dinner California Grill/Wishes

Tuesday:
Disney Hollywood Studios
Lunch 50's Prime Time Cafe
Dinner Brown Derby/Fantasmic! Package

Wednesday:
Magic Kingdom
La Nouba
Dinner Raglan Road
Pleasure Island

Thursday:
Epcot
Typhoon Lagoon
Dinner 'Ohana

Friday:
Epcot
Dinner Whispering Canyon Cafe

Saturday:
Magic Kingdom or another park
Head to airport after lunch

Didn't leave much time for Stormalong Bay, did I?

Start packing yet?
No. I started making a new list of things to pack.

I am going to the gym at 7am both tomorrow and Thursday mornings. Tonight I packed my gym bag. I HATE HATE HATE showering at the gym.

I am also paying bills and reconciling credit cards.

Maybe tomorrow I will pack.

Oh you have a lot to do. A 7am gym appointment is early. I hate showering at the gym too. I hate the naked women drying their hair. Why can't they wear a towel??

I have to finish packing and decide on shoes.

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Shoes are a very important decision.

I don't want to pack yet, because that means I have to decide what I'm wearing the next two days to work and make sure not to pack those items.

Just wanted to say I'm so excited for you!! Your trip starts in like 3 days!! :cool1:

I just called BC and requested a refurbished room. The CM was so nice. She put it down and said "we'll see ya when you get here! Have a Magical Day!"

I heard bits of "You've Got a Friend in Me" and "Just Around the Riverbend" while on hold. Makes me want to call back just so I can hear the Disney music to get me in the mood!

I am so excited!

I will respond to your posts later. We leave in 2 days!!!
