OR do you wing it?

We love Kouzzina, but I'm getting nervous as it is becoming more popular. :rotfl2:

We wing some in the past. When we stayed at AKL (I didn't plan any breakfast at Boma) and went to the restuarants 3x and we were sitted w/i 5 mins. When we stayed at GF, we went to 1900 Park Fare (dinner and breakfast...didn't have ADR) and was sitted w/i 10 mins.

Walked into Kouzzina for breakfast on Saturday May 29. It was practically empty (still had to wait about 10 minutes before being seated though)

According to your signature you are going for Christmas, things might be a little different then. It's one of the busiest times of year.

Nope, not for christmas. The 3rd -17th :thumbsup2

I was wondering the same thing about Boma. We're staying at AKL and definitely want to do one breakfast there, but I'd really like to pick the day once we're already there. We're a party of 4, Dec 9-16. Do you think we'll do ok just walking up?

We have been to Boma for breakfast 3 times, now we have always made ADR's but they probably weren't necessary because there were many available tables. When we go again we would probably make ADR's since we probably wouldn't be staying at hte AKL and wouldn't want to get there and not get a table. Boma is a really great breakfast.

On my two last trips the only TS breakfasts I did were on the day we were leaving and we early meals (about a 1/2 hour after opening I'd say)... it was Whisper Canyon in 2008 and Kouzzina this past February -

That being said I did make ADR atKona Cafe for Breakfast for our last full day just to be on the safe side

I want to eat where/when I want during my vacations so I ALWAYS make a reservation as soon as I get it all figured out. I wouldn't DREAM of winging it at WDW. I would be a basket-case throughout the entire trip if I thought I might not get in here or there when I needed to. I'm going for just 3 nights in October and I've already made the 4 reservations I need. And guess what? I got the exact times/days I needed! (It was touch and go there for about a day trying to get Afternoon Tea at the GF though.... whew!) My favorite non-character breakfast... BOMA.

I do one or two sit down breakfasts, but usually wing on park days. I always eat at Kona once every trip

We always make an ADR for Boma, but most of the time we can tell it's not necessary. However we tend to eat late and that is probably part of the reason the restaurant is relatively empty. Even so, at least once, we waited at least 15 minutes to be seated because it was quite busy.

We've also done breakfast at WCC, and we did have an ADR, and we had to wait anyway. It was packed -- this was the Sunday of Thanksgiving weekend.

i make them - pretty much because if i know i dont, it will be a fluke day that they are booked up and i would be so bummed.
i am also a crazy type A person who would be thinking non stop about it until we were seated. if you are fine with winging it then go for it. but if you know when you want to go and the time about when you want to go then you might as well.

Not sure you really need to, with just a few exceptions. But we've made breakfast ressies every time...and the only place it really would have made a difference was Chef Mickey's. When we went at 7:30 there were empty tables, but by 8:00 a.m. they were wayyyyy backed up and lots of people waiting. I've read that 1900 Park Fare & Cape May also get backed up, but can't say from personal experience.

Everywhere else, including Boma (9 a.m. on a Friday) , Crystal Palace (8:05) before park opening, Hollywood & Vine (8:05) before park opening, and Kona Cafe (7:45) all had many, many empty tables...as much as 75% empty.

But here's the question: If you don't have an ADR, how would you get into these parks before opening? You have to be on the ADR list, or you can't get into the park early in the first place. :confused3

As for Crystal Palace -- I have seen it mobbed at breakfast time on an average, low season, middle of the week. I'm not saying don't try to do a walk-up if you're there and have a go. But if I wanted breakfast there, I'd get the ADR.

We just learned of ADRs and their importance during our last stay at WDW in November '09. I was soooooo glad our TA recommended booking b-fasts at our resort's Kona Cafe. It look unassuming enough, but it was booked solid, every day we at there (which was 3/7 days). They were turning away people who just walked up.

I make ADRs for breakfast for about 1/2 of our trip....so half the time we eat TS and half the time we eat QS. I used to do a lot of character meals but I've started to appreciate the calm atmosphere of NON Character meals :goodvibes

We did Kona in May. It was only because it was our anniversary and we were staying at the Polynesian. We have also done Captains Grill at the Yacht Club, but that was only because we were staying there too. I am not a big breakfast eater.
