Do you make all of your PSs at once? Long...

Hi all! Our 120 day window for our 1/11-18/03 trip is right around the corner :bounce: (I'm just a little excited, can you tell?). I'm planning to make the following PSs:

'Ohana--dinner on our first night!
Chef Mickey's--breakfast
Crystal Palace--breakfast or lunch (not sure which one yet, any opinions or preferences?)
Kona Cafe--breakfast on our last day: gotta try the tonga toast!
CRT--breakfast with the princesses (got my fingers crossed!)

I realize I have to wait until the 60 day mark to try for PSs at CRT and the Crystal Palace, but the others have a 120 day window. Here's my dilema: do I wait until 120 out for my last PS (Kona Cafe on 1/18) and then make one call to make all of the PSs? Or do I call each day for each restaurant when I reach the 120 mark? For example, I would call on 9/13 for 'Ohana (1/11), then I would call on 9/15 for Chef Mickey's, etc. How do you all handle this?

Any input would be appreciated! Thanks for letting me ramble...D :jester:

If you want ressies for somewhere popular that might sell out like Chef Mickey's and Crystal Palace breakfast, I would call exactly on the 120/60 day date. On the other hand, for Kona Cafe breakfast I wouldn't worry. Yes, it costs a few bucks more and is a hassle, but how much are you paying for this trip?

I do mine all at once (although, I will sometimes call back, if plans have changed or if someone has a particular desire which had not been considered).

Although you will have to do acrobatic tricks with 3 phones to get a CRT breakfast PS, I still say, do them all at once. Frankly, if you do not get exactly what you want, try something new. There are so many wonderful experiences to be had....I do not like being a slave to PSs (it can sometimes set you up for momentary disappointment, not something worth feeling when considering a WDW trip :)). Most likely, if you are calling 115 days before your trip, you'll likely get most of the PSs you want.

I love planning my WDW trips, but I also love the opportunity of trying new and different things (even if it is sometimes not by design)

Enjoy! :)

I make one call towards the end of our 120 day window. Most of the restaurants we choose are not the hot ones, so I have some leway, and don't feel the need to call the minute the window opens. But - if I were trying for the big character meals, I would be on the phone beofre Disney Dining opens! ;)

I used to, but now I don't. I used to plan everything down to the very minute, but I am reformed. I have made exactly 2 PS for our 7 night trip in October... aren't you proud of me? Of course, I may increase them as we decide where we may be on what days, but then again, I might not decide that until we get there! AH...that felt good!

I made them as the PS windows opened. It helped to add to the excitement of the trip. :D

I make multiple calls. When we decide we want a PS I go ahead and make it. I like doing it ASAP and having my choice of dining times.

This year all of our PS ressies were made as their 120 day mark opened up. I started on a Sunday (exactly 120 days) and then called back every morning for the next days restaurant. Since I made one sit down for each day, I just called every day for a week. I got all of my times and locations.

I make our ressies as each 120 (or 60) day arrives. It's part of the fun and makes the vacation seem closer. I always hate to think I might not get the exact time I want because I waited a few days. Enjoy.

I think it all depends on how busy WDW is when you plan on being there. I already have my Christmas-Eve ('Ohana), Christmas (Chef Mickey's) and New Year's Eve (Teppanyaki in Epcot) reservations made. In your case, mid January is pretty slow and you can get a good time whenever you call, except for the CRT reservation. Of course, if you are the type to worry about it then it's worth calling right at the 120/60 day mark :D.
