Do you live: city, suburbs, country ?

I live about a second from Atlanta, close enough to get to everywhere quick but far away enough to be able to park anywhere!

I suppose I live in a suburb but I really don't. Lansing isn't large enough to have suburbs, I don't think.

I live in a small township about 10 miles east of Michigan State University.

Suburban town about an hour north of NYC. It's nice, but somewhat expensive. DH and I fell into our house...one of those owner died, family didn't want to carry it through the winter so they sold it fairly cheap...deals, or we probably wouldn't have been able to afford anything in the town. I'm happy here. We were quite close to my ILs when they were alive, my parents are about 10 minutes away and my favorite SIL & BIL are about 5 minutes away. My DB & DSIL are about 15-20 minutes away, so we're quite well-located. Love my neighbors...well mostly...one's a pain, but I ignore them! We're close to our jobs. I can picture me staying here for the rest of my life. I could be a snowbird though, and maybe spend January, February, and part of March in Florida somewhere.

I live in the middle of Orlando, Florida. Where I live it is still rather undeveloped so it really doesn't seem like the big city until I leave my neighborhood.

My beautiful home....

i live in the suburbs

oooh i LOVE our house, Feralpeg!!!! its so pretty and unique!!! our house is really boring :teeth: :teeth:

we live in the suburbs, and to tell you the truth, while I love where we live, I'd go a bit more rural if we could!

I live in the country. If all obstacles were out of my way, I'd live in a big city.

We live 12 miles out of town in between the Rocky and Clearwater Mountains. That classifies us as country folk.

Our town is a suburb of Chicago, but is named "City of Naperville" All I know is that it has grown from 65,000when we moved here to 140,000(and stll growing) now. I was in Downtown Milwaukee over the July 4th holiday..and it was less strssful and far less crowded than here, yet it is a city. Go figure...like Dan says..they all run together out here...drives my DD nuts that 1 little parcel of land can't be left alone...something has to be built on it...and at a premium price!

We live in a suburb of Detroit. In fact, we live less than 3 miles from where I was raised.

Which would I prefer...... a less crowded suburb than this one.

Suburb of a captial city

I'm in the suburbs of Metro Atlanta as well and I love it here. I love strip malls!

The suburbs! And I loooooove it here! We're not a huge city so downtown isn't that far away and this suburb is so pretty. Especially in the summer :D

We're in really rural suburbs. We're definitely in the suburbs but it's pretty rural. Not exactly country though, although there is a lot of farm land. I like where we are and I will never live in a city. I hate the crowded highways, and what I know about public transportation you could fit on a pin head. No cities for me, ever.

We're in a "city" right now, which would be a village by most people's standards since the population is about 20,000. We are between two larger cities that have major airports and any other shopping and services that might be lacking here. We will be moving about 5 miles away to the country, where we will have 15 acres of land, 9 of which is woods, and we're one lot away from a golf course. It will be nice not to have close neighbors, not that the neighbors here aren't nice. It's very peaceful to be able to go outside and just see rabbits and squirrels and trees and have the privacy that you just can't get with near neighbors.

In the suburbs of NYC.

My parents moved us from Queens when we were kids b/c of the schools and I never left. I live about 2 minutes from the house I grew up in and I love it. It is a great place to raise our daughter, plus if I want to go to the city I can hop in the car and be there in 30 minutes.

I live in the West Village of NYC, a block from Hudson River Park, on a cobblestoned street with gas lamps. It is possibly the holy grail of twentysomething living in the United States, it is so fun. Five years from now, however, I'd like to be in a smaller city - somewhere the scale of Boston, Philadelphia, Atlanta, Salt Lake, San Fran, someplace like that. Also on my list of 11 life goals - to have a beach house or condo in Cape May, NJ.
