Here , in Canada , the CBC and Radio-Canada is all Olympic all day, So you see all the events when they happen and we get to see all sports , wich is very interresting. And while the coverage obviously very interested in what the canadian athletes are doing , we get to see everybody compete and sports where canadians dont have a big chance of winning medals , so we really feel like we are in Turin with the world , unlike the NBC coverage where you get the feeling the the USA is there against the world. The Opening ceremonies on NBC was all about politics and how one country relates to the USA.

Nbc Only has a wrap-up at night and , for obvious reasons , is very USA centrist.
Do you like your olympic coverage? what should be done differently ?

I watch it on NBC. My main complaint is too many commerials!!!!!!!!!!!!

It is the same here on the CBC and we do have an anoying commercial with beavers selling a phone company at every publicity segment

Ah c'mon toto2, those little beavers are so cute!

I have pretty much stopped watching as the coverage is awful!

No offense to anyone that likes it this year, but I think this is the worst coverage ever.

They were , but too much of a cute thing...The Bell commercials in French used to be with the same actor for the last 10 years , playing upward to 50 different caracteres. They were illarious , so the beavers seem to a bit boring , exept the first one were they are auditionning for the commercial .

I don't think the coverage is all that hot. I don't get MSNBC. All the non-US hockey games are on MSNBC. :headache: The nightly coverage is too choppy. I understand putting the premier events towards the end of the broadcast but if they are going to do t hat, put the whole thing there! I don't mind the US homerism that much (I would expect that from any country I was watching home coverage from), but I would like the option of seeing all the events even if their aren't American competitors. Like the hockey!!!!!!

Having said all that, I will continue to watch. :teeth: It is something my whole family enjoys watching together.

Don't like it jumps from one sport to another then waiting so late in the night to see the medal matches like in figure skating for example.

I don't like our coverage either. I usually watch every sport in the Olympics, both summer and winter, but this year the coverage has been awful. It almost seems that if there isn't any chance of an American medaling, then we don't get to see it. So, rather than watch it each night, I'm taping it at 1:30 am and watching it, fast forwarding thru the commercials, the next day.

I'm getting really sick of the beaver comercial!

I like the CBC coverage and I enjoy watching the olympics while getting ready in the morning. I stopped watching NBC because they kept jumping around from event to event and I could never figure out when anything would be on.

Its generally ok. My one complaint would be with the figure skating, because they generally only show the top 6 or 7 entrants, and only te last group of skaters live. In the pairs competition they stopped coverage just before the medal ceremony so we didn't get to see the skaters get their medals at all :sad2:

The BBC has no commercial breaks though :cool1:

I think it pretty much sucks here; the NBC/Universal cable stations all seem to show hockey, hockey and more hockey, and the NBC prime time recap coverage is so chopped up and edited that you get no feel for any of the events. I'm pretty much watching movie channels now instead...

I think the coverage is good. Me and DH work full time, so it is nice to be able to tune in at night and get to see the "meat" of the Olympics in a nice condensed package. In HD none the less.

I realize we aren't seeing everything, but that's OK, we don't have time to watch everything anyway.

We multi-task. We can usually watch the Olympics and something else at the same time. Like we didn't miss a thing on Survivor last nite and yet we watched the Olympics at the same time. Just switched back and forth between commercials.

I like being able to watch CBC live during the day and catch the recaps on CBC primetime. I'll occasionally watch NBC's nightly coverage just to hear their spin on things.

I hate the Olympics. It is intruppt my fav shows. I hate miis the Montel Williams show on Wednesday.

ITA! I just can't stay up that late to watch it when I get up at 6 am! :worried:
