:o I can't seem to put the stuff down. What the heck is this stuff made out of? It's so interesting. I loved playing silly putty when I was a kid too. Now they have colored silly putty-I've bought gold and silver for my kids, but I like the plain ole flesh toned color best. It's more pliable.:teeth: It's also very soothing.:)

I know you are younger than I browneyes, but when I bought Silly Putty for my DS when he was younger (now 15) I noticed it didn't pick up the comics as well as when I was a kid. I think the ingredients are different:confused:

I used to love to play with it....but I've never bought it for my kids.....too many times I witnessed my mom digging it out of the carpet.

We loved to use it to pick up the comics and then stretch it out to distort the picture. We also would POP it in our hands.....I may have to go buy some.

I also remember biting it:o . It squeaked in our teeth. We were weird kids.

I bit it when I was a kid too, but it tasted horrible, so I stopped.:o I like to pop it too, Nkjzmom.:teeth:

Krisu, I noticed that too. Either the silly putty ingredients are different or the ink they use in the papers are different, perhaps a mixture of both? When we were kids, they may not have had recycled paper like we do nowadays?

Emmagata, 100 pounds of it sounds like fun, but where would I store it? Can you imagine the size of the little egg it would come in?:teeth: Thanks for the link btw.:)

It's the ink that's different.

Most, if not all, newspapers use soy based inks.

And yes, that would be a HUGE egg!!!

make little pizza's with the stuff. He loves to play with it. I used to also when I was a kid.

OMG, this cracked me up.

My DD, who is almost 17, LOVES the stuff. She carries an "egg" of it with her everywhere. She especially must have it when her choir sings in church. It keeps her occupied during the sermon. (Don't tell me she should be listening. We have a problem with our pastor, but that is a whole other story. I digress.) A few weeks ago, she was in the choir loft and I was in the congregation in the balcony. We have a large sanctuary. Anyway, I hear this LOUD pop and look down and see her grinning at me. It was that sound you can make by cracking the Silly Putty. All the kids around her were trying to contain their laughter. I wondered how many people heard it or knew what it was.
